If you donīt know what the SAD is, you wonīt be able to help me ...but, for the bored and curious, here we go!! The 1995 Toyota Estima or Previa, is a deisel SUV people carrier. Auto gearbox, 4 wheel drive constant. The problem which they experience, as has the one I have to tackle( ), is when they reach high mileage, the secondary accessory driveshaft (see?:S.A.D ) starts to wear, and makes a 'clacking' noise, which is quite severe. Well, the SAD is connected to the front crankshaft pulley on the engine, and goes forward to end in a pulley in the front section of the car, where it drives the A/C, alternator, power steering and other 'accessories!!
Well, this guy who has just turned up on my doorstep wants me to repair it. HEhehe!! Never even THOUGHT about working on one befoe, but he is in trouble. Spanish garages have never seen these beasts, because they were available only in Japan and America, until they started to import the secondhand ones from Japan into the UK.
Anyway, he has the two repair kits for the two pulleys/connectors..but nobody to do the job. So, where better to ask, on a Sunday night, if anybody has done this, than on PFF????
Pretty please, with sugar on!!!! Hehehehe!!

Hey Nick. Pm me your e-mail address so I can send you some instructions I found on the net, they are a PDF file, so I have to send them via e-mail. The instructions are pretty detailed. I looked around on the internet and I have heard that your problem is the bushings are worn out, most people replace them with aluminum bushings from ebay. But I have three sets of detailed instructions to remove the SAD, replace the bushings, and other info that could be very helpful for you. They got pictures!!

Sounds like a PTO on tractors Nick.

Sorry I can’t help you with the work but it does sound similar to the system used on tractors here to run secondary systems like backhoes, bucket loaders, and mowers.

If that is the case I bet Maryjane may be of some help. He had Pmed me he is working on those things now.
