Every year Americas Pub here in Wichita has a $1000 costume contest. Last year I won with my Master Shake costume.
well tomorrow is the big day for the 2007 contest. I have been working on this for about 2.5 weeks, and its finally done (except for the antenna). Its too big to put on by myself, so all i have right now is a picture of it sitting in the driveway.
notice the hole in the side of the mouth? I bought a big ass cigar to hang from there, also I made a beer holder inside that holds 3 beers right behind the door, and i can drink through the hole too. haha. This costume is insane. Ill get pics up of me wearing it, by tomorrow.
good luck on the contest! Around St Louis its all about who you know and not how good the costume is.. I should know, I do haunted houses and my getups are top notch, Almost to the point of over done, and I still loose to the person that is a ex bouncer at the bar thats dressed (with lack of clothing) as the hulk! Sigh Seen this for the last 10 yrs around here and thats why I leave my outfits boxed up.. LOL
Killer work on yours though. Should go over really well!
Damn thing about this year, I cant find any of my older costumes. They musta gotten lost in transition from one house to the next.. Damn the boxes! I was going to be a ninja this year cause I used to own 4 complete reallllly nice suits, tabi's and all! But now all I can find is the blavanka (mask), my camo suit, and my weapons. Maybe I'll go as a camo ninja! LOL
Its not real heavy. Its made of plastic, fiberglass and aluminum. I can sit on a stool ok, so i dont have to stand all night. It also have pretty comfortable arm holes, and shoulder pads. The most difficult part is walking around. Moving through the club tomorrow night should be interesting.
Here they are, I just got the pics back from my friend that came over to help me put it all on.

Not sure how long i have to wear it, could be up to 5 hours. Sucks, but I have a small battery op fan im putting up in the top of the head to blow air down on me. It gets pretty hot, especially in a club. Its worth it for a grand though.

Yeah, if I fall im screwed. Ive been through this scenario already. Hope it doesnt happen. Cause something is definitely breaking, whether its the costume, me, or something i fall on.

Great costume! Just wondering if after mulitple beers and five hours how your bladder will feel or did you think of that and leave yourself a way to address that without having to take it off?

Never, never do anything or wear things that you don't want to have to explain to Paramedics, it can get very embarrassing. They talk!

That freakin' sweet. You should sell that on EBay after you get done using it. I bet someone would buy it for quite a bit money. Good luck on the contest, you will probably win. Just because you put alot of work in that.
2 years in a row! Ah yeah! There was some pretty awesome costumes in the contest this year, but nothing stood out like mine. I was out dancing on the dance floor, doing the robot and stuff, and everybody, and im talking everybody wanted a pic with me. In the first qualifying round i actually had my competitors on stage, cheering for me. It was hands down a landslide victory.
Not sure if i want to sell it. What would you offer for it though? And shipping would be interesting.

Good luck trying to come up with something better for next year, looks like you've set the bar pretty high for yourself. In fact, I wonder if you'll get a letter asking you NOT to attend next year to give others a chance to win.
Reminds me of something that Michael Cain said in "Miss Congeniality"... Victor Melling: Ten out of eleven years my girls were crowned. The year we lost, it was to a deaf-mute. You can't beat that.
You might want to consider going as that, just in case.
Congrats on the win!!! I figured you won I would not know what to offer, but if you decide to sell it and come up with a price, let me know. I should have a few extra bucks after xmas
