I know most of you know I am not a believer but my friend is.
We just learned a couple of days ago that a close farmer friend just a few miles a way was diagnosed with breast, liver and spinal cancer, the prognosis is not good. Operations are not an option.
Her husband is a close friend as is she, Donna helped Melanie when I had my stroke a few years ago around here even though she has a farm of her own with over 100 animals.
Today we learned that she is terminal. I don’t have much more info than that, but after watching my own mother battle cancer and die this is hitting home with me.
Bill has been feeding in the morning then running back and forth to Portland everyday to be with her, an hour and a half each way. Then rushing home to feed the animals. To proud to ask for help, or stupid.
To those that do believe and pray, please helpp. To those others like me who don’t good vibes will be greatly appreciated by her and us.
She is coming home as I type this and Melanie is running supper up for them.
Another friend is there feeding the animals because it is so late.
To all that have it in their hearts to do anything .
Thank you for her and thank you from me.
Forgive my blubbering and any miss spellings but I have lost to many family and friends to cancer that it is really hitting home.

If there are any odds in beating back the cancer, I wish her the strength to beat back the cancer.
Melanie just got back from seeing her and they gave her 3 months without chemotherapy and 6 with. Not good.
Melanie’s dad died of cancer and was given 6 months, told them to shove the chemo. He was 87 at the time and lived another year. So we know they are not engraved in stone, but it is not good no matter what she is home with a morpheme pack. Auto injection devise for pain meds so it really doesn’t look good.
For all those who are thinking of her, Donna. Thanks. I know she prayed for me when I had my stroke and I am sending her good vibes. So what goes around comes around so to speak.
Thanks again to all who have posted and will in the future. My post will definitely be more sporadic because we will be trying to help her get her affairs in order.
She has decided to get rid of most of her animals. She has about 70 goats, + 17 sheep fogs + cows, horses and pigs. So we will be spending a lot of time going to local auction house with them and helping her sell others privately.
Thanks again for caring.
PS
she is home, doesn't want to spend her time in the hospital, and i can understand that.
Edit to add
I just noticed one of my spelling errors and it made me smile.
It was supposed to say Sheep Dogs not fogs.
Funny how in even the most trying times we can find humor in the littlest things.

Best wishes, put an add in the local paper for volenteers.
We are a close knit bunch up here, most of us farm people anyway.
So help is not really going to needed. Melanie and I, Tim a close friend of theirs who lives with them just came back from a construction job up by Caribou he will be home for the weekend to help.
Problem is her husband Bill didn’t tell anyone until she was in the hospital for 5 days. He has taken some of his vacation time but has been running himself ragged. Now that we know what is happening we will be going over to help daily.
Thanks again all that have posted and cared.

Obviously your neighbor has been following the creedo: "Love thy neighbor as thyself." I see you are doing the same by helping in their time of need. She sounds like a good person. You are doing what you can to help and I cannot ofer much but a prayer, so I am doing so. Take care, and I wish her to get well soon. If not, may she be able to say goodbye with dignity and fond memories.
I am sure she will be missed by many more then just her family.
Some of the greatest heroes known to America have never had to serve in the Military to prove their worth as human beings.
May she get better, and find peace.

My son has had two battles with cancer, Steve, and we were lucky enough to have many, many people pray or hold good thoughts for us....so much so, that we have plenty left over, and will send them Donna's way....

Best Wishes to her. I personally haven't lost any relatives to Cancer.( Knock on wood). I have heard a lot of miracles happen were they give the patient, ie.8months, and they live a lot longer.

Very sad news Steve.Prayers AND good vibes are there already. Like everybody else, I wish I was nearer, to lend a hand. Just don´t take on too much yourself, and become colateral damage
This is what is so remarkable about PFF. Words have been exchanged amongst some of us..and yet they are amongst the first to send their support. Some remarkable people on this Forum..no wonder it is such a success.God bless the the poor Lady and her family, and everybody here too. Nick

Yes Nick I knew I would get the help she needs here, even though many of us have such strong opposing views.
Thanks to all, and as I said earlier I will be on less & don’t think I will be posting on the threads that I normally do. Arguing with those I have over the years.
Again thanks Nick, Dar, buddycraigg, Wii bird, Litespd. $Rich$, John & Sandi, isthiswhereiputausername?, htexan1, James Bond 007, aceman, Jake_Dragon, 84Bill, & anuone I might have missed or that will post later,
THANK YOU, I’m sure she will appreciate it.
Steve & Melanie.
