Is this a USB drive? Windows 98 doesn't support USB natively. You need Windows 98 Second Edition. You need to install the entire Second Edition Updates to get USB support to work properly.

When I was working, I had a Windows XP computer. I had a Flash Drive for it. I used the Flash Drive to import files to my Windows 98 computer. Both computers were running Quick Books and I had the home computer as a backup.
So, I know that the previous generation of Flash Drives worked. That Flash Drive came with a disc that had the driver.
I downloaded the upgrade files however, the one file is missing in the upgrade. That is the reason for my request.
Another answer for me would be to find an older Flash Drive that has an installation disc.
Go here and you will find some older update disk. Look at the w95su series of files. They are self extracting to a 1.4 meg floppy and contion the file you are looking for (I think). http://209.167.114.38/suppo...windows_95_files.htm

Right. My CPU came loaded from Dell and I didn't get the Windows 98 CD. Got one?

Glad you got it, I didn't check this thread until just now or I could have extracted it and emailed it to you. One of my pet peeves is when the mfgr. won't include the Windows CD with the unit. I don't even like it when they put it on the recovery CD. To me, that's the ultimate cheapskate move.
