Put in your two weeks in written form stating where your loyalties were till you were told you may no longer be needed. Honestly from that point they may offer you more then your would be new employer or they may just say good bye. if they just say good bye then they were going to let you go anyway. in either case you win. just my .02.
I agree. If the upper mgmt doesn't even think your job is needed, then you're wasting your time with them. Just remember to say "AMF" (adios moe fuggers) on your way out. Hehehe...
[edit] Since I own page 2, here's a link to a drink you can make on your last day there. It's called the AMF.

It seems like they are delaying you too long. I hope they don't give you some BS and try to keep you with a smaller raise. That would be an insult.

Get a resume together and get it out there! How much you want to bet they hold off til Friday to tell you that they can't do anything for you right now, company policy bla bla bla... Sometimes the fastest way to get ahead is to keep looking for opportunity... actually, most of the time the only way to get ahead is to look for or to make your own opportunity.
Get that resume together and get it out there! Nobody is going to look out for you except you! It drives me crazy that so many managers have their head up their ass when it comes to realizing the value of a way above average employee vs saving a few dollars. What they fail to realize is how much money you are actually worth to THEM. Stop wasting your time in a place that doesn't value you and find one that does. There's nothing wrong with looking for more money- companies do it all the time. There's nothing wrong with looking for greater opportunity, companies do it all the time. Without the two, they go out of business... all the time. You don't owe them anything, and don't let them think you do. You put in your time, were paid for it, performed above expectations. If anyone tries to make you feel guilty about wanting more, they're only trying to use that emotion as a tool to keep you down.

Buddy, It's all a delaying tactic. They are just waiting to see how long you're going to hang around without the raise. They may in fact be willing to give a raise but aren't going to do it until you force them to make a decision. I guarantee they are looking at their options on who can replace you if you need to be replaced. I'd be calling those other opportunities. Everyone is replaceable and normallly at a cheaper price. Your replacement may not be as good as you are but, he's cheaper and can learn. I'd be looking to move on if that option was available or, I'd start accepting that there wasn't going to be any substantial pay increases for my efforts. I agree with not burning any bridges, you can leave as a professional and make them wish they had kept you or you can storm out and act like a jerk. Then, they'll feel like they were lucky to get rid of you when they had the opportunity. Best wishes and good luck.

So my boss, his boss, and the president were supposed to have a meeting this morning. My boss didnt bring it up at all during the day. And heres the weird part. He almost never leaves before I do. But today he was gone 15 minutes sooner than normal. So I was guessing that he was embarrassed with what he had to offer me and was avoiding me.
But I stopped at the 2nd bosses office on the way out the door and asked, you, the president and my boss were supposed to have a meeting this morning did that go as planned The 2nd boss said yes, and (he) was working on some figures.
This is what I truly think is happening. The 1st and 2nd boss both like me and want me there. The president is saying Fem, we dont need a parts department anyway So the other two bosses are trying to figure out how to pay me what they insinuated when I interviewed, and (hopefully) an additional wage increase to make it even with what I could make someplace else.

It sounds like none of them want to give you a (deserved) raise, and hoped you'd forget about back when you first brought it up. And now they're hoping the 'problem' will just go away again. Time to move on, they obviously don't appreciate you and don't think much of you or the job you do. They'll be sorry when the new guy shows up, and he's either completely incompetant or twice as expensive.

Either that or Buddy's duties will be taken on by the supervisor and the next boss, which is not something they want to take on. Buddy is probably correct that his direct boss would like to see him get a raise but, unless he reaches in his own pocket (which isn't likely to happen) then the President is the one that has to come up with the bucks. Which is a whole other issue.

Didn't he say there was another potential PFF'er at his work? Maybe that person turned the bosses on to this thread and either the sh!t hit the fan or Buddy isn't posting anymore just to try and prevent that from happening.
In any event, I hope things work out for him.
