I ran Seti for years until they switched to their BOINC client. They kept sending work units to the old SETI clients, but didn't count them for completed data, and I did that for about 6 months before I heard about the upgrade, so I just said screw it.
My first PC I ran it on took over 40 hours just to do one work unit. That was back in '99, though. It was a Pentium 200.

Same here.
I ran BOINC for a month or two then stopped... I have already proven with roughtly 14,574 data units that there is no intelligent life in the universe... including sol.

The real original array was about 20 miles from my house. They tore it all down to build a golf course. Glad they at least left the Perkins Observatory.

Ran it on my Pentium 90 originally. I dropped it when it went BOINC and all the weird stuff was happening with the software, I was getting crashes and work units weren't going through or something. Would take a couple of days per unit originally and on my last machine I could do a few a day.
Since I'm at work most of the time now, I could find a new use for this machine during the day. I'll check out some of the newer projects.
