Hi, I been trying to get the A/C to work on the wifes 96 Intrepid. The Haynes manual I have doesn't show the HVAC wiring.

I have found that I get no signal to activate the A/C clutch relay. I can jump power to the clutch relay and the clutch and condenser fans come on and the thing starts cooling.

I have tried 4 control panels from the junkyard, and none operated any differently, so I have ruled out the control panel. I must be losing the power from the panel the the relay.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Sorry, I didn't think about that. It has the manual control. The one with the 3 turn knobs for fan, temp, and mode, as well as 2 buttons for A/C and rear defrost.

Thanks a million!!

Emailing you everything you could want to know about that system as PDF files. Troubleshooting, Operation info, schematics, wiring diagrams etc.

Enjoy.

If the A/C system is low on refrigerant the low pressure switch will not activate the relay. Oil circulates with the refrigerant and low will destroy a compressure.

Thanks a million guys, Pluses all around. Turned out to be the pressure sensor. Called NAPA was told a dealer only item, called dealer $105.00

Went to the junkyard and pulled 6 of them for $3.00. First one I tried worked!!

I have a hard time believing the A/C clutch operation is controlled by 3 ECU's!!! It has one in the control unit that sends a signal to the Body Module, which sends a signal to the Power train module, which operates the clutch relay!! Leave it to Chrysler Corp to make a major thing out of a simple circuit!

Thanks again
