Here is what someone thinks Bush should write if he resigns.

Why do I think this should really be what George should be announcing? Worth the read!

We all have our disagreements with President Bush. Immigration, U.S. Attorney firings, Iraq, Darfur, etc. are all hot topics these days. The following "speech" was written yesterday by an ordinary Maineiac. While satirical in nature, all satire must have a basis in fact to be effective. An excellent piece by a person who does not write for a living. Sent with the author's permission.
The speech George W. Bush SHOULD give:

Normally, I start these things out by saying "My Fellow Americans." Not doing it this time. If the polls are any indication, I don't know who more than half of you are anymore. I do know something terrible has happened, and that you're really not fellow Americans any longer.

I'll cut right to the chase here: I quit. Now before anyone gets all in a lather about me quitting to avoid impeachment, or to avoid prosecution or something, let me assure you: there's been no breaking of laws or impeachable offenses in this office.

The reason I'm quitting is simple. I'm fed up with you people.

I'm fed up because you have no understanding of what's really going on in the world. Or of what's going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the majority of you are too damned lazy to do your homework and figure it out.

Let's start local. You've been sold a bill of goods by politicians and the news media. Polls show that the majority of you think the economy is in the tank. And that's despite record numbers of homeowners including record numbers of MINORITY homeowners. And while we're mentioning minorities, I'll point out that minority business ownership is at an all-time high. Our unemployment rate is as low as it ever was during the Clinton Administration. I've mentioned all those things before, but it doesn't seem to have sunk in.

Despite the shock to our economy of 9/11, the stock market has rebounded to record levels and more Americans than ever are participating in these markets. Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and most of you are too damn stupid to realize that gas prices are high because there's increased demand in other parts of the world, and because a small handful of noisy idiots are more worried about polar bears and beachfront property than your economic security.

We face real threats in the world. Don't give me this ~blood for oil" thing. If I was trading blood for oil I would've already seized Iraq's oil fields and let the rest of the country go to hell. And don't give me this 'Bush Lied People Died' crap either. If I was the liar you morons take me for, I could've easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could be 'discovered.' Instead, I owned up to the fact that the intelligence was faulty. Let me remind you that the rest of the world thought Saddam had the goods, same as me. Let me also remind you that regime change in Iraq was official US policy before I came into office. Some guy named 'Clinton' established that policy. Bet you didn't know that, did you?

You idiots need to understand that we face a unique enemy. Back during the cold war, there were two major competing political and economic models squaring off. We won that war, but we did so because fundamentally, the Communists wanted to survive, just as we do. We were simply able to outspend and out-tech them.

That's not the case this time. The soldiers of our new enemy don't care if they survive. In fact, they want to die. That'd be fine, as long as they weren't also committed to taking as many of you with them as they can. But they are. They want to kill you. And the bastards are all over the globe.

You should be grateful that they haven't gotten any more of us here in the United States since September 11. But you're not. That's because you've got no idea how hard a small number of intelligence, military, law enforcement and homeland security people have worked to make sure of that. When this whole mess started, I warned you that this would be a long and difficult fight. I'm disappointed how many of you people think a long and difficult fight amounts to a single season of 'Survivor'.

Instead, you've grown impatient. You're incapable of seeing things through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do. You think that wars should last a few months, a few years, tops.

Making matters worse, you actively support those who help the enemy. Every time you buy the New York Times, every time you send a donation to a cut-and-run Democrat's political campaign, well, dammit, you might just as well Fedex a grenade launcher to a Jihadist. It amounts to the same thing.

In this day and age, it's easy enough to find the truth. It's all over the Internet. It just isn't on the pages of the New York Times or on NBC News. But even if it were, I doubt you'd be any smarter. Most of you would rather watch American Idol.

I could say more about your expectations that the government will always be there to bail you out, even if you're too stupid to leave a city that's below sea level and has a hurricane approaching. I could say more about your insane belief that government, not your own wallet, is where the money comes from. But I've come to the conclusion that were I to do so, it would sail right over your heads.

So I quit. I'm going back to Crawford. I've got an energy-efficient house down there (Al Gore could only dream) and the capability to be fully self-sufficient. No one ever heard of Crawford before I got elected, and as soon as I'm done here pretty much no one will ever hear of it again. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to die of old age before the last pillars of America fall.

Oh, and by the way, Cheney's quitting too. That means Pelosi is your new President. You asked for it. Watch what she does carefully, because I still have a glimmer of hope that there're just enough of you remaining who are smart enough to turn this thing around in 2008.

So that's it. God bless what's left of America. Some of you know what I mean.

Very good read. I don't agree with everything in it, I do agree with some. I could very easily see Bush saying that verbatim.

I don't care why he leaves, as long as he is GONE.
Rationalize all you want, but he (they) have done a terrible job of running things.

Get over it. As harsh as it sounds, Bush is still our President until January 2009.

I accept. Can we have a real forward thinking leader now? Or do we get another backwards thinking corporate owned "guy you'd like to have a beer with"?

How does that beer taste? Kind of flat and bitter, huh?

One thing is for sure, whoever is elected our next President, we are due for a change in the way the politicians have been running our country. I blame all sides.

I’m waiting for the Chaney/Bush ticket.

Chaney will die of a heart attack and

King George will be back in charge.

Then he can really run the country into the ground, just like he has been all this time.

Republican or Democrat we will do no better they are all thieves/crooks/nuts/whoremongers.

The only thing worse than a politician is a salesman.

That was pathetic. Period.

Much like the condition of our country.

Inflation is out of control regardless of what our supposed inflation rate is saying. Look at the price of neccessitites and tell me our inflation rate is only 3-4%.

Illegal immigration is also out of control and our government isn't doing a thing about it because who can say no to cheap labor.

The war in Iraq is a mess and costing this country way too much.

Our personal security is worse than it was pre-9/11, no matter what Fox News or other idiot facist organizations tell you.

Our government is larger than it's ever been in history. I don't know how they've managed it, but they've managed to become both fascist and communist.

So serioiusly, if you think George Bush is a great man... you're an idiot. If you think our country is doing good, you're also an idiot.

Get a grip people, our country is going to hell in a handbasket.

I don't know who more than half of you are anymore. I do know something terrible has happened, and that you're really not fellow Americans any longer.
Here's tip number One. He has failed to convey, in a convincing way, why we are doing the things we are doing in the international theater. I think it could have been pulled off if there was more talent available to him. Instead, he lied (WMD), among other things and invaded a country and now occupies it when we were told we were fighting an enemy without borders.

let me assure you: there's been no breaking of laws or impeachable offenses in this office.
I understand the jury is still out on this one. At least Bush is not the first to have to deal with this.

The reason I'm quitting is simple. I'm fed up with you people.I'm fed up because you have no understanding of what's really going on in the world. Or of what's going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the majority of you are too damned lazy to do your homework and figure it out.

Yeah, Bush could never write this. The kettle calling the pot black as it were. He has often said he doesn't like to read. A president fed up with the constituency? Doesn't deserve to be president to begin with. He always looked a bit contemptuous to me, the elitist snob.

I've mentioned all those things before, but it doesn't seem to have sunk in.
first point: For every finger you point, three are pointing back at you. Politicians are politicians, and what the news media has become are a bunch of advertisers, stock brokers, and accountants. As far as minority homeowners, do you think that there is a coincidence between the collapse of high risk mortgage companies, foreclosures and the stated aspect of minority homeownership? Does anybody think this will be sustained? These homeowners are probably the high-risk gamblers that maxed out their equity to start their businesses. And these things don't happen overnight. So pointing back to the Clinton administration is dangerous. We had eliminated the deficit during that administration, now where are we?

Despite the shock to our economy of 9/11, the stock market has rebounded to record levels and more Americans than ever are participating in these markets. Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and most of you are too damn stupid to realize that gas prices are high because there's increased demand in other parts of the world, and because a small handful of noisy idiots are more worried about polar bears and beachfront property than your economic security.
Okay, if the part about the environmental concerns was left out of this, it might have been the best argument in the 'farewell speach'. Our economy was not prepared for increased oil prices, period. The economy is complicated. Never mind that we have the lowest gas prices in the world, any extreme change will effect ours, and the world's economies. That's the power our country has in the world. Clinton understood this, you'd think a businessman like Bush would too. Oh, that's right, he wasn't a very good businessman.

It's starting to look like we are taking over their oil fields through negotiating with the crooked people in place in Iraq. Didn't we 'lose' a bunch of money over there? Riiiiight...
And policy does not equal execution. W's own Dad, lest we forget who was the Director of the CIA at one point, wrote in his memoirs that we, as a country, did not want to go into Baghdad during the first Gulf War because of the exact situation we find ourselves in now.

You idiots need to understand that we face a unique enemy. Back during the cold war, there were two major competing political and economic models squaring off. We won that war, but we did so because fundamentally, the Communists wanted to survive, just as we do. We were simply able to outspend and out-tech them.
Bush is not the 'We' he mentions above. The 'We' are the 'Idiots' and 'Morons' the hypothetical 'he' refers to above. Republicans like to cut those budgets, and pump up big business, the targets of those enemies of ours.

That's not the case this time. The soldiers of our new enemy don't care if they survive. In fact, they want to die. That'd be fine, as long as they weren't also committed to taking as many of you with them as they can. But they are. They want to kill you. And the bastards are all over the globe.
If anyone is counting, those bastards have killed a lot more of their own and non-American neighbors than those Americans lost during his Dad's administration to the present. In spite of the negative press, we kill a huge number of their guys and are more effective in identifying and going after critical elements of their shoddy organizations. It's not so much a credit to Bush, but to the organizations that have been in existence for a long time, and will be continued after the current administration rides off into the sunset.

As I said above, Bush had nothing to do with those organizations. At least with 'Survivor' we know it will end, even though we can't be certain of the results. There are rules, guidelines, a premise to follow.

Instead, you've grown impatient. You're incapable of seeing things through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do. You think that wars should last a few months, a few years, tops.
You've gotta be kidding me. If the majority public heard this from the presidents lips, his approval would plummet to the single digits.
No WMDs (Oops, sorry America)
Torture (well, we had to do it... and cover it up.)
Invasion of another country ( That will be the legacy of the Bush administration)
Willingness to over reach his authority to spy on citizens, but not help Katrina Victims.
Record Deficit
...and it ain't over yet.

Making matters worse, you actively support those who help the enemy. Every time you buy the New York Times, every time you send a donation to a cut-and-run Democrat's political campaign, well, dammit, you might just as well Fedex a grenade launcher to a Jihadist. It amounts to the same thing.
A lot of countries were friendly towards America prior to our invasion of Iraq. Thanks for creating those enemies, Mr. President. It'll take a polar change in policy to begin that process, and a lot of resentment towards the Republican party as a result. There has never been a better time to split the two dominant political parties in this country. Think Blue Dog.

In this day and age, it's easy enough to find the truth. It's all over the Internet. It just isn't on the pages of the New York Times or on NBC News. But even if it were, I doubt you'd be any smarter. Most of you would rather watch American Idol.
'Hello Pot? This is Kettle. You're Black."

I forgot. The government isn't there to protect the defenseless, the minority from larger foes. Like big business. Too stupid? How about too poor to leave? Ill equipped? Ignorant, sure. So the government, who collects the majority of its operating revenue from the lower and middle class, enlists the majority of the military it deploys to other countries from those classes.... Oh, that's right. W knows all about how to serve his country. And pay taxes relative to his income.
It wouldn't go over our heads. I doubt it would reach our level of comprehension.

I still have a glimmer of hope that there're just enough of you remaining who are smart enough to turn this thing around in 2008.

You've at least made it easier than it coulda been.
So that's it. God bless what's left of America. Some of you know what I mean.

Before someone suggest I move to Canada, let me state: We still have the world's best system of government in America. In spite of the mistakes our government makes, it is still the most desirable system for government by the people. I guess that's why we chose to impose a Democratic form of government in Iraq. I'm sure Thomas Jefferson is spinning in his grave.

Real numbers like census and economic reports? What have you found?

The same thing I have? A dwindling middle class, a growing poor, larger influx of illegal immigrants? out of control inflation? rising gas prices?

Unaffordable housing, low quality healthcare, millions without any healthcare at all, crumbling inner cities, out of control pollution to the point of not being able to eat the fish we catch in our waters, and lets not forget the over 10,000 dead or severly wounded American soldiers. How about those numbers? What is the exact amount of mercury and MTBE that is safe to ingest with your rainbow trout?

Wise words from King George Bush

"I appreciate people's opinions, but I'm more interested in news.
And the best way to get the news is from objective sources, and the most objective sources I have are people on my staff who tell me what's happening in the world."

“Tribal sovereignty means that, it's sovereign. You're a -- you're a -- you have been given sovereignty and you're viewed as a sovereign entity.”

"I think that freedom is a powerful incentive. And I am—I believe that someday freedom will prevail everywhere, because freedom is a powerful drive for people to—and it's the beginnings of people expressing themselves toward a free Iran, which I think is positive."

I really do not know who is more of an idiot, you or todd.

Of course Detroit and New Orleans typically vote Democratic, they are POOR! What poor person do you know that votes Republican? I can only think of a few and they live by typical stereotypes.

The millions without health care are the working poor you twit. If you make $20,000 in with no kids, YOU GET NO BENEFITS! At least in VA you don't.

Bush is an idiot. Period.

Our government sucks. Period. If you are too stupid to realize it yourself, that's fine. Go stick your head back in the sand.

Every poor person I know does not vote because they realize the futility. Then there is a good portion of fellons mainly those convicted of drug "crimes" who are not permitted to vote.

Definition of stupid.. If something isn't working.. keep voting for it...
It's like you people don't understand how an economy works.. or even common sense.
If you raise taxes on those that make money and provide jobs.. they have an incentive to leave.. they leave and you lose more tax revenue, so.. dem logic.. raise taxes again..
I'm not aware of how VA's health care is set up.. but in MN you would qualify for assistance.

Bush may not be perfect, and I've not defended him on all issues.. but considering the alternatives we were given.. I can live with the choice.

Oh we understand how the economy works.. You get money you spend money..

What you fail to understand is we dont get ENOUGH money because the CEO the assistant CEO and the Vice president in charge of the assistant vice president who manages the CEOs of ABC Mega Corp International LLC are making 35 million each on the hard work and labor of the pions who make minimum wage or rather ... are lucky to get minimum wage because the Assistant CFO (who makes a palty 12 million a year) wants to outsource to India thus reducing further the overhead, increasing proffits and justifying a 2.4 million dollar a year raise in salary.

Aww such a hard fall from grace.. Might as well leave and move to INDIA where the BULK of the labor pool is cheapo and taxes are lower.

No, you just choose to bow down like a good little slave and not request change.

Oh please Bill, what you're asking for.. lets lay it out.. redistribution of wealth.
"that prick made more than me!! give me his"
I aint rich, probably never will be. My uncle on the other hand is quite comfortable.. been busting his ass since the 60's to get to the top. Ignored family etc etc.. but when he retired he was CEO of Casio US
Now you come along and say he don't deserve it.. the money should be shared by you and your pot head friends..
Why.. What did you do to earn it?.. For over 20yrs my uncle gave up everything except "the Job".. His family now can and did go to the finest universities and somehow you think they cheated.

He came from a middle income family where dad was a CPA.. nothing more.. His wife.. Came from a railroad family Dad was a caboose fire man.

Ya, he's worth 6 figures.. but he earned them.. who the F are you to say he didn't? What right do you have to use congress/state etc to steal his money and give it to you and your pot head friends?

Oh.. sorry it wasn't fair for you.. in the 60's he was a catholic mic, and my aunt was a polish catholic.
Today.. I and my brother are both half mex/amer indian/euro.. He's a city mgr for Hertz, and I do.. internet things

We're not rich, wern't born rich.. but in your eyes we probably are rich.. so now you want to take our money that we worked for because you "didn't get a break"..
Sorry.. F you.. I earned my stuff..My rich uncle didnt bankroll my education. I like you did my time in service. Got out went to college.. dropped out.. wandered around.. found an industry that could use what I have.. and am doing ok.

Oh.. but guess I should have bitched about the man and gone on welfare.. that would have shown them.. Sorry.. got more pride and am more of a man than that.

What?.. nothing from Spektrum?.. did the DU not give you your talking points?

Or not ready to debate a lib?

Oh.. our gov't sucks.. gee.. great closing.. so tell me who's do you prefer?
Canada?.. the PM can ignore the popular vote
France.. well we'll see
Sudan.. have gun be president

Closest case for equal gov't is the UK.. and gee.. they backed us in the war on Iraq.

Guys like you crack me up.. Looking for a Castro/Pol Pot utopia.. how many of their own citizens did the kill / export to make their paradise?
But I'm with you.. I want the Dems to be successful.. Lets pull out of Iraq tomorrow. . really.. every Marine, Grunt, etc.. pull out
Run for the planes/boats etc.. out by Apr 23..
The Sunni/Shia bloodshead can be on Ried/Pelosi's head

Since you don't care anything about politics. fine.. Heres the body.. run with it in 08..
If the evil republicans were running to win at all cost.. F reality.. they would pull out of Iraq.. and lay it at the dem's feet and their pullout/pork bill.
No armor for troops because Senator Bryrd needed another lynching post.. (sorry highway in his name)
But Reid/Pelosi won.. we pulled out.. now there are 1million dead, honor killings (f womens rights) and a region where no oil will produce.. since Iraq will surely bomb Iran and their ports.

Sorry.. I know this takes critical forward thinking.. will probably cause liberals/dems to start screaming BushHitler.. ignore reality.. Al Gore says we need to use Solar Panels as he flys by in his gulfstream!

I don't know what is worse.. You or the prick. If the American workers knew how much money was going upstairs as a result of their sweat and hard work there would be a revolution. I'm sure some do but because they are asswhole deep in debt they have no choice but to work for peanuts while the "prick" goes to Bimini on his private 300 foot Yatch to play an round or two of golf. To me there is a big difference between the argeous task of golfing and making that pricks trip simply marvy than actually doing "real" work.

Wow.. now it comes out.. you're really a socialist/communist.
I know how much my boss makes, I know how much he made in bonuses last year. (right around 1.5mil) Guess what it's his company. He started it, laid all the ground work, built it from nothing. All started with him and about 4 other guys.
We now employ about 400 people worldwide.

People like you don't think thats fair!.. he shouldn't make anymore than a CS rep on the phones!! It's not fair!! He doesn't need that money!!
Who the F are you!
What would be the incentive for anyone to do anything if there was no reward in the end? Some people decided to do something, you decided to hang with your homies and get high.
You don't deserve a cut of the pie. Lucky for you, there are useful idiots like Pelosi and Reid who'll take other peoples money and give it to you for doing nothing because it's "fair".

Why don't you man up and do something instead of whining about how it's not fair.

While your miser makes bonuses of 1.5 mil, the people WHO ACTUALLY WORK and slave and toil far down the bottom make far far far far far less and I'm sure you would say "Lucky to have a job there." How many people (besides the boss) have retired from that business last year?

I'd explain it to you, but you'll never believe it. You're just p.o.'d that nobody made you CEO.

Oh sure they actually do something, make a few phone calls.. actually he probably doesnt even make any or even answer the phone.. his secretary does all that. Again, it's the pions who ACTUALLY perform the labor and are the ones who make him that 1.5 mil bonus.. and his x million dollar a year salary AND build his company. Without his labor pions your "CEO" would actually have to work for a living instead of living off the sweat and toil of others.
