Okay, so in my English Literature class we are reading a little Pastoral poetry and we read Marlowes "The Passionate Shephard to His Love", and Raleighs response "The Nymphs Response to the Passionate Shephard." We have been discussing the battle for patronage and "press" in England amongst poets. So a modern parallel was needed, and I suggested the battles of NWA. A person in another class brought in the Cam'ron/50 Cent battle, which was stupid... sorry. So for a little brown nosing and some fun I am writing a short thing about the breakup of NWA and how Eazy E, Dre, and Ice Cube all addressed the issue of the bands breakup in their following albums as soloists (or with other people). This is not for a grade, so I am not trying to get other people to do my work for me. Can anyone think of some good examples of ex-NWA member songs that talk about other members or the reason of the group break-up? I am going to use Eazy Es "Real Compton City G'z" and Ice Cubes "A Message to the Oreo Cookie," I also plan on using some anti-Ice Cube stuff from 100 Miles and Runnin. Does anyone else have song ideas for me to use?
Yeah, I figured alot of people wouldn't know but the website is a very diverse community, so I figured I'd give it a shot here. After all this is Totally Off Topic, but when those songs came out I was like 6, so I didn't exactly grow up on them either.
I have a couple of good ones with you, although I don't know that you'd want to put their titles in a paper that you are doing for school. One song Dr. Dre had was "F**k wit Dre Day" feat. Snoop (Eazy-E diss song). You also have the song "It's on" which is another Dre diss song by Eazy-E.
EDIT- I just found another one- "No Vaseline" by Ice Cube, it's kinda dissing everyone in NWA.
