Recently, my wife and I took a trip out to Colorado to visit my brothers. On the way, we stopped in the Sandhills of Nebraska, where my wife lived when she was little. I had never been to Carhenge before, so I stopped and took some pictures. I thought some of you might get a kick out of it, if you've never been there before. Nick (Fierofetish) might find this interesting, seeing as how he's from England, and I assume is familiar with Stonehenge, which Carhenge is based on.
Anyway....

I didn't know Cathy was from around there. You know that Sandi has a lot of relatives living around Alliance and still farming there. Her family originally settled there, then later some of them moved to South Dakota. Sandi lived with her Grandma for a couple of summers and worked in a bar/restaurant in Alliance. Her family around there is mostly related to Bill Rust and that branch of the family.
Huh. Small world.

Oh, BTW, Carhenge is cool.

Cathy was born in Alliance, but actually grew up on a ranch near Ellsworth, which is about 35 miles East of Alliance.

Indeed. Cathy has two aunts that still live in Alliance. One was a nurse in a doctor's office there, and the other one taught at the Catholic Academy...in fact, they still live across the street from there. Her grandmother also lived there, but her grandfather, who was separated from her grandmother, lived and ranched by Valentine.

Yeah...but I was hoping to pick up some parts for the Fiero there...none to be found...

You're quite welcome, Nick! I'm glad my post brought back some good memories for you! If you're interested in reading more about Carhenge, they have an official website...
Click on the "about us" link. It tells the history of Carhenge...how it is laid out the same, and is the same size, as Stonehenge. Interesting reading..
