It most likely means nothing - just "GXP"

They had GT, but wanted something more special...
So they did the Trans Am GTA.
Had the Pontiac Grand Prix GT, but to bump that up, they didn't want to use the GTA, so they called it GTP.

Now they want something "cooler and faster sounding" than GTP - so they come up with GXP. Makes it sound exciting, like some Xtreme Xperimental version of a GTP.

Oooh, GXP.

What do you want to bet GZP is next? Oh wait, Chevy had an LTZ, so they might not want to use the Z like that. Maybe the GYP? That's got to be it.

the solstice is turboed and the gran prix is supercharged.....i think

the GTP is poopercharged too tho...

EDIT: and i believe the Bonerville GXP just has the NA 5.3 v8

Bonneville has the Northstar, not the 5.3

That is what I thought since at the St. Louis Auto Show (manufacturers) I saw

"Torrent GXP"
of course the Solstice GXP and so on

Maybe i'm blind but I can't find a answer on the pontiac website or anywhere else. I realize it probably is just a lot of "hype" like Formula88 said but still I would think they would attempt to having a meaning for it lol
