i've been doing this for 7 yrs now. i like my job, not crazy about it but i do it well. at first i thought other co workers just forgot things or didn't realize the problems. now i'm starting to think that i'm being set up. they know the problem before hand and just pass it on to me. pass the buck so to speak. i probably look at the world through rose colored glasses but i hate to think i'm the sucker. i don't understand why somebody would set me up for failure. it dosen't do anybody good in the end. maybe its time to move on. i don't know. i treat people like i'd like to be treated and it isn't coming around. the people i supervise i can handle. its the people that actually do the same job i do that are abusing me. just kinda frustrated right now.
ya see the thing is i'm in the "in crowd". its not matter a being fired its a matter of respect. hell nobody that's sane would take this job. you treat me right and i'll crawl through a mile of dog poop for you. its when people don't treat me as a peer, a little respect, common courtesy. that's all i ask, and i don't think its that hard to do.
And this students is a classic case of early dementia. The first signs of paranoia are clearly visible in the subject............j/k
I wouldn't put it past the folks you work with that they are passing it on to you and setting you up to fall. Its games like that wich pushed me to start my own company.

Why should they treat you with respect, when they know they can abuse you ,and you'll still do the "mile walk through the poop"? Although I'm sure there perhaps are some deep reasons why people act the way they do, I will just sum it up with "Some people suck, and should be stabbed in the eye with a straw"

Maybe it's not that they're trying to set you up, just that they are passing along kwrap that they don't want to deal with. What you're seeing as malicious might just be laziness (on incompetence) on their part. The path of least resistance, so to speak.

its probably my own fault. i enjoy the chaos. i love to see 100 different things all f'ked up. its what drives me. to see all the problems and be able to fix 99% of them. its a good feeling. problem is the problems that you do and don' t fix are like parasites. the eat at you. tear you away little by little.

If it part of "your" job to take on additional work you are stuck. If you are "helping" someone out, you need to learn to say no. It sounds to me, as though there are people who are throwing the ball to a willing receiver.

The favorite trick here is to target one person at a time they dont like then transfer them to a new position. Refuse to train them then fire them for not performing their duties properly. And i wish it was paranoia.. We didnt have this problem until the 'merger'. And only the 'incoming' are being targeted.
Working for the \government sucks for us little people.

nothing new here, and not necessarily malevolent. they're looking for someone to solve a problem.
it's a very old story, read "beowulf". locals had a problem they couldnt fix, so they sent out the call for heroes. beowulf came and killed grendel. it was all good until grendel's mother went looking for revenge. so beowulf killed grendel's mother. it's all good, beowulf is a great hero. then they have a dragon problem. who do they call? the guy who can fix things.
unfortunately, the dragon killed beowulf. moral? if you're the local monster slayer, they send you out to slay monsters, until eventually the monster wins.
for an alternative view of the beowulf story, read Gardner's "grendel".
