So I went to a party last night, Lisa was driving, so I was free to put back a few. Anyone ever drink TGI Fridays premade mudslides. They are 17% by volume and drank straight over ice. Roughly 3-4 times the strength of beer or coolers. Well in the bright thought I had, I read the ingredients and RUM was the main one. So we picked up a small bottle of Jamaican Rum. I dumped in my ice, added a shot or 2 of Rum and then added the Mudslide. It really did not accrue to me at the time just what the alcohol content now was. It kinda tasted like chocolate milk with a little bit of a bite to it. 1st one was gone in 10min's, so I went and made a 2nd one. I am guessing that I mixed the 2nd one a wee bit stronger than the 1st, frankly I don't really remember. 2nd one was gone before I knew it. About this time I went to walk across to make my 3rd one and I really knew right then and there just how messed up I was. I don't usually drink anything but Vodka. So this "Rum Experience" was all rather shocking. About that time a couple of my friends realized just how wasted I was and took me out for a burger and a coke. I made a complete fool out of myself, asking the lady to make sure to include extra grease on my buddies burger as well as commenting on the looks of many people. About 3hrs into it, I was finally sober again so we go back to the party. Guess where I went straight too. Yup, poured myself that 3rd one I wanted, LOL. Thankfully due to the now full stomach it did not get me drunk just a pleasant buzz for the remainder of the night.

So if you are looking for a drink that does not seem strong, almost tastes like a desert, and lets you uhm forget about your troubles rather quickly.

1 big glass
4 large ice cubes
2oz Jamaican Rum 40% by volume
6oz TGI Friday's Mudslide 17% by volume

Stir and drink. The only bad side is, man what a hangover the next day. No headache, but I feel like I got hit by a truck.

University of Iowa has a Bagpipe Band, The Iowa Scotish Hilanders, they've been around since WW2.

Rusty Nail, Iowa style:

Pour into a large container 1 fifth Drambuie, 2 fifths blended scotch, store in freezer overnight. No need to use good singlemalt scotch in a mixed drink. Serve in a Rocks glass with 1 or 2 icecubes, no need to add anymore as the Rusty Nail is already near frozen anyway, or do as I do use a Sippy Cup just in case.

I'm one of the few guys you'll meet that will admit to waking up, hung over, wearing a skirt for a legitimate reason.

Yes there are pictures, but this is a family forum after all.

I'll stick with Boom Boom. It's a creation of our own, and is over 100 proof. But the idea is not just to be strong, it has a character all it's own. And it doesn't taste like straight liquor, even though that's about all it is.

Gotta watch out getting drunk on drinks with cream in them. You don't EVER want to get sick off of anything with cream or milk in it.
