I'm going to be looking at a 70's SAAB with an 11-digit VIN soon, and I want to check on its history before I shell out the cash. Someone tried CarFax for me and got the message that it was a bad vin because it wasn't exactly 17 characters.
Is there an alternate way to do it, or maybe some other service similar to CarFax? I'll PM the VIN if you think you have something. Thanks -Jason

Things like the Sonett were built before the VIN was standardized. You're going to have a whole load of fun trying to find any info based on it.
