How in the hell did Stairway end up at 31? Look at some of the songs that ranked higher. That just doesn't make sense. But of course, alot of these lists never do.
The reason you're all questioning this list is because it comes from Rolling Stone, who can't seem to get these things right. I don't know who they asked, as I cancelled my subscription to that rag a long time ago, but, I can guarantee they didn't ask the general public. I'm sure they asked music critics and industry insiders. Who cares what they think?!?!

Edited for this list is "the greatest songs of all time", not just rock and roll.
Everyone can make their own list and they won't be the same. The problem is trying to break it down to 500. I've got thousands on my computer and they wouldn't be there if I didn't like any of them. How many times have we listened to a song or watched a movie and totally disagreed with the critics? It's the same with this list.

That list seemed just about bang on. 1,2,4,5 I didn't agree with.. Radiohead is on there as well. **** the police had a massive influence on music. It deserves to be on there. Sex pistols should rank higher as well. I thought 9 could have ranked higher, but of course I would.

Hmmmmm.... Seeing that the name of the magazine is "Rolling Stone" and that the name of said magazine appears in the title and artist of the top two songs, it may lead one to believe that they are a bit biased on their pick of song order. It's always about self promotion and marketing.

Nobody try to argue stairway to heaven ever being higher than it already is. I don't care what anyone says. I love rock, metal, alternative. C'mon though, I cannot stand stairway to heaven. It is so overrated in my mind. Everytime I hear that song now..... rant........
