Where do I start? How about, "Sega, I want my money back!" This game SHOULD have been called "Now Loading" subtitled "With brief interuptions by Sonic." Literally the loading was horrendous. To give an example, you would be running around the town, go up to someone and talk to them, get 2 lines of dialog "i've lost my dog, will you help me?" You would click yes then be taking to a loading screen of about 15 seconds. It would come back in the dialog with the person saying, "hes over there!" with no cinematic whatsoever, just a dialog box. It would AGAIN go back into a loading screen, then you would get about 10 seconds of game play to jump on a building and get the damned dog. It would then take you BACK into another 15 seconds of loading.

Controls: Horrid. Sonic does a bounce attack from enemy to enemy, simply by pressing the direction of the enemy then 'a'. Sooo many times did sonic blast right passed the guy right off a cliff. Also, on the sprinting levels, you literally have about 2 degrees each way to play with on the joystick before your character darts completely right or left. The new character, silver, does a mind control thing to pick up objects. However, he grabs the objects and holds them in the air about 10 ft away from you, and almost always the game only gives you 5ft to work with. You're stuck charging enemies holding boxes behind you because you can't swing them around front to launch them. Then you can grind on rails IF you can hit the rail. You literally jump on it (which is all you have to do) but sometimes the game would randomly decide to turn on clipping and you would fall straight through it to your death. There are speed boosters on the ground, many times they would run you off direction (you had no control) off a cliff of into a wall.

Plot: Other than keep rescuing a retarded princess, little. Characters randomly come in and out of the plot with no reason.

Enemies: Some are a challenge, most are just a slight annoyance. They fire bullets now, which no longer take all your rings, but just one for each bullet that hits you. Its no longer Dr. Robotnic but back to "Dr. Eggman." Hearing "Oh no! Its Dr. Eggman" simply doesn't strike me with fear or caution. The bosses are all incredibly easy, the final one (Dr. Eggman) being the absolute easiest.

Camera: Take a parkisons victim and give them about a gallon of expresso. The camera angle would randomly or trigger change causing all your controls to go backwards ultimately walking you right off a cliff. Many times on a completely flat surface it would shake as if they stuck a vibrator on it. Sometimes it would go underground completely blinding you.

Gameplay: Annoying, these tasks would be easy, but between the controls and the camera, would take several attempts to get it right. The characters can drown in 2" of water instantly. FPS drops were common.

Summary, if you have to pick between a frontal enima and playing this game for 10 hours, I would lean towards the enima.

Sounds like it's a game at was badly coded, poorly planned out, insuffiently tested, etc...
hits all the major things on the "never do this" list.

Sad to hear, but from what you have shared with the class, it sounds BAD.

Bad story
Bad gameplay
Bad camera
Bad feelings after playing it.

Bad.

I'd rather just drink 17 cups of coffee and play Sonic on the genesis.
