Two weeks ago my girlfriend tells me while cleaning the whole house started to smell really bad and she had to open all the windows and doors just to breath. I thought it was from fumes or dust or something like that.

I just tried to vacuum and look what I found

Is that much hair normal for ONE girl in about a month period??

I just opened all the windows and doors cause I can't breath...lol

Depends, does she have long hair?

This is a woman, right?

Where’s the rest of the body?

That could be what’s smelling.

Sorry Melanie said that.

But if she has long hair that’s not unusual.

you lose 50-100 head hairs daily, regardless of gender.
if 100 hairs are each two feet long, its gonna make a much larger tangle than the buzz-cut clippings most of you lads shed.
my girlfriend sheds more hair than i do, mostly 'cuz i hardly ever wash my hair, 'cuz i'm growing it out and it grows slowly and the less mechanical, thermal and chemical stress i impart to it the better. yes, i'm a dirty chick. i'm even thinking of dreding it and dying it fuschia.
our two chinchillas shed an incredible amount, and while the outer fur collects in little fluffy tumbleweeds at the bottom of the cage,
the really light underfur finds its way onto thermal currents and coats the entire apartment if we don't keep after it.
so we have 2 very expensive Hepa air cleaners that run constantly - one in the living room, one in the bedroom.
and the hepa-equipped electrolux still fills up. where o where does it all come from??!!!
i'm thinking of dying the chinchilla's fuschia too...

On a slightly related topic, has anyone else noticed how new vacuum cleaners usually use small fast loud whiney motors that chew through belts far faster than the old big slow quiet vacuum cleaner motors? If my old hoover gets jammed, it just jams. If a new one gets jammed, it instantly saws through the belt in a cloud of burnt rubber smell.

I sprung for the Dyson. It has a clutch or something on the belt. Its god awfull expescive but how often do you buy a vacuum? Long hair is why I bought a new vacum And shortly after my girl cut a foot and some off. I shave my head so I know all the hair is hers. You should see whats in your shower drain if you think your vacuum is bad.

Every time I vacuum, I find Kitty's evil twin. He sheds like a maniac.

With 2 dogs, 3 cats, 2 birds and a wife, i go thru a vacuum every couple of years.

Tub drain? Well, once a month i put in a cup of drain cleaner, just for good measure.

Ya, my kat sheds a lot too. I vacum about once a week and almost the whole bagless canister is packed with cat hair. She literally sheds a handfull if you pet her. I didnt know girls shed that much though.
