Anybody speak any "obscure" languages outside of the "big 4"? (English, french, spanish, german)

I want to learn Russian. Their letters make my head hurt though... But I figure one word a week and soon I'll be forming sentences...

How about semi-fluent Thai and enough of two Lao dialects to order beer and dinner? Learned it when stationed there in late 60s early 70s, and managed to keep most of it.

I have a nephew who speaks "toddler", and a sister which understands (but does not speak) it. Does that count?

I knew Hindi for about a week.

Seriously! A few years ago, I downloaded one of those "FBI Weekend classes" things that crams the basics in yer head, and I was able to understand an entire (basic) conversation , and replied in english... everyone was just like ,(including myself)

It soon after fell out of my head.

Not a bad idea to look for torrents for pimsleur, rosetta stone, and other langauge things if yer interested...
