So I decided to build a go kart. I have a good small 3hp engine, and a welder. I am documenting my build, like I do everything, on line. (My webpage below.) I dont think it will be to hard, but I will need some speciality parts.

Anyone have a centrifugal clutch that fits a 5/8 shaft?

Hit your local small-engine-repair place.....they will probably give you a well used one for free to 10 bucks, and a brand new one is only about 50 or so.

Small engine repair place, Local tractor store? I live in the city of Pittsburgh. I will have to search these places out. I guess tractors are kinda like go karts that can cut grass. Okay I will have to look. Thanks

This was the one I built, not quite a go-kart though!!

3.5 hp (somewhat tired) engine and BIG wheels. Only problem is that the fixed axle makes it want to go straight all the time so it's hard to turn, especially going slow, but then, who want to go slow !!

LMAO! It should be standard issue to every driver convicted of DUI...they try to get out and do it again, the first corner will take care of the problem...plus, they'll feel strangely at home...

Well I got some plans, and I think that the bar stool kart is my choice. Looks easy to build and yes very practical. So I will travel to the home depot this weekend and get some steel. Thanks for the help.

I wanted to build one of these, but since the stoke I’m not coordinated enough to ride it.

That gas powered skate is more crazy than the bar stool racer. Better make sure you have good health insurance.

Started riding skateboards in 73, still got the tar in my had to prove it.

You can run from a standing stop 25 mph, at least I could back then. We used to tie a few ropes behind a car and skateboard all around a huge grave yard. That’s how we found this out.
