Yeah, they're nice. I've got my father's old '92 Grand Marquis that I'm fixing up. It sure does take some adjustment going from a Fiero to a land barge.
Kind of funny seeing it in my garage, too. On the Fiero side, I've got a spare washer/dryer in front of the car, and lots of room behind the car to walk around, etc.
On the Mercury side, the front bumper is about 3 inches from the wall, and the rear bumper is about 2 - 3" from the door! It fits - BARELY.

I have the same problem with my trailer & Suburban, I have to squeeze them in with little space to spare.
Was looking at reviews posted on the web, was surprised to see the mpg rating, Engine 4.6L V-8 210HP, City: 17 MPG, Highway: 25 MPG
Many reported getting close to the rated mpg at 70 mph. Unusual for a 4000 lb vehicle. (Of course they won't handle like a Fiero.)
Still a pipe dream at this point.

I used to work on a friends 91 or was it 92, dam my memory is shot.
The one thing you can depend on a Lincoln is that it’s going to cost you a 1/4 tank of gas no matter where you are going. I used to drive from Mass. to the beach in New Hampshire on a quarter of a tank, or go around the corner to the gas station.
Great cars, I still miss mine.

The Lincoln Town Car is a good cruiser car. I had a 1990. Last year for the 302, first for the "then" new body style. It was a fun car. I should have kept it. S. Williams

When my Mercury is running right, it's a great road car. Problem is it sat for years, so I'm trying to get it back into solid daily driver shape now.
Dave, what year is that Town Car? It's a nice looking one!! Some of the last body on frame, V8 front engine rear drive sedans you can buy. Not sure if the Chrysler 300 is a body on frame or not, though.

I test drove the car today, very nice. It was loaded with all the options, all worked. Air was cold. Was very clean everywhere. I could tell it wasn't just a detailers work, it has been garage kept. No rust anywhere to be seen. The trip computer showed the last tank averaged 22.5 mpg
The asking price was 6 grand not including taxes, tags.
Told the salesperson it was to much, I countered with a drive off price including taxes, tags of 4700 , left my card and told him to call me if they could work that deal.
Got a call about an hour later, he said the manager oked my terms..
Told him I would get back to him Monday.
Since talking to that used car dealer today, I contacted the Lincoln dealer, spoke to the sales mgr, he has a 97 that was just traded with 79K miles that I will take a look at Monday. He said it was a one owner & was just as clean as the the other car.
Borrowed my cousins 88 Town Car last week and put quite a few miles on it. I was very surprised that I got 18 MPG in city/highway driving, and I wasnt going all that slow. I stayed aroud 85 MPH for the hour to and from the city, and then about 45 min of stop go KC traffic.

My dads northstar eldo does better then that on the hwy. He drove me out 7 hours to pick up a new fiero earlier this summer, i had to stop for gas on tthe way back, he didnt.
I used to have one of my own years ago, and while they are nice, i think i outgrew the 'couch on wheels' back in my 30's. ( i bet i go back to it eventually tho.. seems all the 'old folk' like those kinds of cars.
I got my hands on a 90 towncar for a couple months. Only got to drive it a couple of weeks though. It was a fantastic car, fantastic ride, and very cumfy, but mr. rust ate everything away up here. After I replaced all the brake lines, front hubs/rotors, I was in the process of replacing the oilpan when I realised it was taking up too much time and money, and needed too much more. By the time I fixed all the crap the rust did to it I could have bought a nicer one. kinda sad. I know you'll enjoy it. Ford's fullsize series of sedans are wonderfull.

Im one of the bunch that likes the earlier squarer body. Before I got more interested in sporty cars, I bought lots of Lincolns. Had quite a few Marks too. My limo service I had used 2 caddies, 1 pontiac Perrisian, and 3 towncars. The towncars gave me far less trouble and had prob an average of 250,000 on each. The others had some kind of breakdown almost weekly. All were very well maintained and looked brand new inside and out. I even towed my race boat with an 86 stretch town car. I used a 77 town car to tow my 38' travel trailer. There great cars for what you have to pay for them.

I was looking at a towncar about a year ago. It was one of the boxier body style ones. with the 5.0L in it. I really wanted that car, it had no body rust what so ever, and the white paint still looked nearly new.
