1. The Ten Commandments 2. Fight Club 3. What Dreams May Come 4. Forrest Gump 5. The Matrix
I got to thinking about my list. That list is more about "The Top 5 Movies The Evoked The Most Emotion". The movies that make me think about "The Human Condition". Maybe "The Spirit Of Man". Or something like that. It's hard to explain.

Right on! Elvis is the coolest of the cool! I just watched Clambake the other night. I started collecting them all on DVD a couple years ago. Viva Las Vegas is up there. Kissin' Cousins. Roustabout. All of them are great but GI Blues is probably #1 for me.

My wife and I recently returned from Paris. We had planned to go to Chateau Monte Cristo, which is the home of Alexandre Dumas and is now a museum, but we didn't have time. We did go to his grave though. Obviously I am a huge fan of Dumas.

Big Fish absolutely fabulous film, has you laughing and crying at the same time... if you haven't seen it, get it. Brazil been my favorite film answer for decades. Matrix like your first hit of heroin... nothing can match the first experience. Dusk til Dawn I had no idea going in the first time where this movie was heading. 12 Monkeys One of those movies I liked even more the second or third time, catching the subtle touches
Unbreakable Just so cool when you realise it's a... well go see it. Sixth Sense One of the most amazing mind f*cks of all time when you get to the end and realise all the clues were there. ... oops that's more than 5, early M. Night Shamilan stuff with, I love when Bruce Willis does stuff outside the formula Die Hard sort of movies. I thought the alien movie with Mel Gibson sucked, haven't watched his horror stuff.
I'd expand that with a bunch of martial arts movies like Hero, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Kung Fu Hustle
Best movie I've seen lately, picked up DVD of "Lock, Stock and Both Smoking Barrels" Violent and hilarious with a good story and acting.

P.S. Did you see the "Full" version of Apocalypse Now? It really changed the "feel" of the whole movie! I'm not saying it was a bad thing. It just made the movie even wierder................ If thats even possable!

Yeah! I've seen the directors version. It made it quite a bit longer and yeah, it did make it a bit stranger. Especially the French chick scene. It's a great movie. I always recommend Apocalypse Now to those who never seen it.

1) Romeo and Juliet (Newest one - not because of Leo - just the cinemetography) 2) What Dreams may Come 3) The Last Samurai 4) Dirty Rotten Scoundrels 5) Old School
(also "The Last Starfighter" and "Never Ending Story")
What would be really interesting are the top five WORST movies of all time - in your opinions.
1) Jarhead 2) Requiem for a Dream 3) War of the Worlds 4) Deuce Biggalo European Jiggalo 5) *RULES OF ATTRACTION*

1) Casablanca 2) McCabe & Mrs. Miller 3) Manhattan 4) Month Python and the Holy Grail 5) Zorba the Greek
I'm a little surprised that so far only Raydar has mentioned 2001: A space Odyssey.
Maryjane: I agree that Tender Mercies is a sleeper that would definitely be on my "Honorable Mentions" list. People who have never spent time in west Texas will never realize just how good Robert Duvall was in that part.

Too bad we let the whole program pretty much languish after Apollo. If there was one film I hoped would become reality (except for the strangeness, of course) it was this one.

I didn't "get" the whole French scene. I'll watch it again though, because Its still my personal fave movie. I would add: Robert Duvals "The Apostle" Silverado The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai across the 8th Dimension Hmm, only one more? Flip a coin, Forrest Gump or Tim Burtons "Nightmare before Christmas".
