I am looking into getting a hometheater system. I dont have much experience in them. I like what I hear about Onkyo and the 680 is the range I am looking for. Can anyone give me a review of it. I havent found many online. Or does anyone else have a review of a similar system.

Before I picked up my JVC th-c5 ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007X7VZC/103-1683462-8499015?v=glance&n=172282 ) for my bedroom projection setup I was HIGHLY eyeing the Onkyo systems... I will say right now.. spend the extra 100$ for the stepup model with two speakers in Diapalato (sp?) http://www.crutchfield.com/S-naCfc2xPRdW/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=37600&I=580HTS780B these babys CRANK and have a really clear flat response. handle power really well and impressed me big time.. But at the time I was needing small, but wanting big...lol and when the open box deal at shortcircut city came along for 200$ I couldnt pass it up.. and It works perfectly and its not over kill (which this woulda been in my small all concrete room..)

another tip I can add.. buy Direct from Onkyo at ShopOnkyo.com when you join you get 10 points and points are worth one dollar off the 780 is still 500$ there but I think free shipping. BUT they do have the one your asking about in black and silver in refirb for 320$ Humm just noticed.. the one I was looking at was the 770 and was 400$ if I remember right.. but not seeing it anywhere it was 6.1

I have the Onkyo HT-S780 and it's fantastic.

Only downside, for people who do not have room, is it is a large surround sound system.

I highly recommend Onkyo.
