anybody have one of these? i keep seeing the info-ads on tv and was wondering how good they were. it seems like years ago i saw one of these but you had to shake it every couple of minutes and the light wasn't that bright. are these better? looks like a good addition for the emergency road side kit.

Something like this seems to make more sense:

http://cgi.ebay.com/5-LED-Crank-Wind-it-Flashlight-Torch-CellPhone-Charger_W0QQitemZ8712951105QQcategoryZ106987QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Wind for a minute and get 20 mins of light.

They have to be somewhat better than the "Solar Powered" flashlights, which never-ever work in dark.

I have one and its a good backup light but I would not want it to be my only light.

Heh, they are testing all these "high-end" LED Flashlights at my job...(200-400 bucks) some are so bright, you hold one up to yer hand, and your whole hand lights up red - you can see all your veins!

Fun to do when you're bored.

I got them. They are good for emergency use as they don't require batteries, just shake them for a couple of minutes to get a couple of minutes of light. You do need to reshake them every couple of minutes and you need to hold the power button down as it is made not to lock in the on position. They are fairly bright when fully charged, but will dim as the power goes down, so you know to reshake them. The light is an LED so it should last almost forever. The casing is made out of polycarbonate so it should be fairly indestructable. Since there are no batteries, you don't need to worry about dead batteries or battery leaks. I think it is the perfect emergency flashlight to keep in your car or house.
