Great job on that Aus, maybe some Pontiac techs will see it and bite off of you ideas! I guess we will just have to see what the future holds for the GTO.......
Could you please remove or resize those pictures Naskie. It took me 10 minutes to download my own thread. Anyone with dialup now will not load this thread.
Over 700K for 2 pictures is over the top. I build complete 10 page web sites smaller than that.
why dont you get a faster connection? takes me 3 sec for the page to dl
Not everyone in the world has access to cable connections. Not even in the USA. If I could get ADSL I would have it, but due to the telephone exchange here I can't. So as you can see I wasn't talking about those lucky enough to be able to get fast connections.

I'm still confused. Why did they make it look remotly the same as the grand prix? The concept gto is sweet. I'll have to squint at stoplights to see if its a 2003 grand prix or the gto before I decide wether or not to race it.
Dodge is bringing out the charger, I'll be saving my money for it. It looks nothing like anything in the dodge lineup. And if it gets the HEMI woohoo!

I wonder the same. Although the concept GTO is really just a flight of fantasy which couldn't be easily produced probably. It would also appeal to a smaller market. I think the should have just stuck with the HSV GTO already in production here.

Not bad, Jim... although I do not like what they call the new GTO. I know you guys down under like them, but as an owner of many GTOs including a Carousel Red Judge like the one you are imitating, this car falls way short in my eyes.. I like the look of the other prototype that was shown later but I heard that it didn't look as good in person. But it did have all the things that made a GTO a GTO...
Now.. as far as your version of the Judge goes... It looks good, but you left out one very important thing. One thing that made a Judge a Judge was the rainbow stripe down the side... Throw that on there and let's see how she looks.
Of course, I want to see functional Ram Air and a hood tach too like my Judge had...
Also, if you want to make us old school guys happy, put some argent silver wheels on it. Totally argent silver, Judges didn't come with chrome trim rings.
Good job, btw.. I'm not complaining. Just asking for more!

Sorry Jim, I forgot how big those images were. Edited to links instead of images.
I like the black GTO with the dark rims you did...any chance you could throw a ram air hood scoop on there when you get bored ?

Thanks Nick. I am going to put a ram air hood on it soon. I was too lazy the other night. Have some similar suggestions for changes in the new GTO forum.

Yeah Aus ... I gotta request .... do the Judge in Silver, (my 69 Judge was silver), make the logo "The Judge" a bit smaller, add Judge style side stripes, photoshop some kind of GTO style hood scoop onto it !!! Add chrome wheels.

Sorry, GM no longer owns the "Judge" name! The company that produced the Firehawks and SS Camaros (SLP?) bought the name after GM unknowingly let the trademark laps a few years back. I saw a blip about it on Speedvision not too long ago. They said that the company (SLP) is already working on a "Judge" version and is or will be talking to GM about marketing it in a similar manor to the Firehawks and SS's. I.E. you place your order at a GM dealership and SLP does the customizing after the vehicle is shipped from the factory.

No chrome... Well, maybe if you just want it for your personal preferences.. but gotta be argent silver for a true Judge.

SLP is the company that did the Firehawk and SS packages for the f-bodies, and, personally, I'd much rather have them doing the Judge version of the GTO than having regular GM do it. If it was Specialty Vehicle, then it would probably turn out alright, but GM's regular program teams have some serious problems when it comes to high peformance versions of vehicles
I think all the purists should quit complaining about the styling. Isnt that why most people hare ricers? All they care about is image apparently. The new GTO blows an old GTO out of the water in all aspects.
Wasnt Mad Max's car a falcon? Bad-ass care non-the less

Ok I have a few ideas what to do next. Damn Purists. hehe That ute nick is loosely based on the holden. Dunno if I like it compared to the local product. Pat, yes Max had a Falcon but in this day and age of movie product placement I bet he would have a GM if paid enough.

Nah, it is a Holden Ute with a body kit. I was just wondering what your thoughts on the Holden Utes were. I think the SS looks pretty sweet Didn't they used to have a Storm ute, too? I vaguely remember seeing pictures of it...maybe it was a limited production run or a concept or something...
Boy I wish we could get some of your cars over here...
Nick

The SS ute is a nice piece of machinery. Better though is the Maloo utes. I can't recall one called the storm, maybe it was a concept. The utester is another concept that is nice.

I don't remember complaining about the styling. I did suggest that Jim might put a few more Judge items on it to make a looks like a Judge.
I also stated that I like the prototype better than I like this new GTO. I didn't complain at all about the styling. I just gave my opinion of which I liked better between two cars...
I won't complain about the styling.. The styling obviously works... It is on every Grand Am, Grand Prix, Toyota, Nissan, etc, etc, etc... Might as well stick with a style they know will sell instead of making an original car...
As for being a purist... only on certain rare cars... Would you cut the Hope Diamond up to make a bunch of rings to sell? Nah.. I didn't think so... Some things are worth preserving.

Cool Jim .... that's a bit closer to the mark !!! At least as far as Judge trim goes ! I like it !
Dale, I really think I like the Holden GTO the way it's coming out ... I would need some minor styling changes to thoroughly satisfy my tastes (Did I say HOOD SCOOPS).... however .. If I had the dough I would own one as is !
