Woa, the screen just got all green, then washed out, then it was ok, then green again, bleeding in from the corner. I figured it was the monitor - (old POC) and that I was tired...
but then, I started getting emails from other people, one, two, five, a dozen. all of them, same thing!
Everyone at this site's getting the same issue, some more pronounced then others..a good degausing seems to clear it up, but woaaaaaaa weird...

Solar Flares?

Gotta go check the power.

Yeah, very similiar to that effect. But it was on over 100 monitors! in different rooms. All of them were kinda "greying out" and then green from the lower right corner (and a few from the upper as well.

15 minutes later, everythings back to normal.

Odd, huh?

There were a bunch of power failures in the city (cut off train service ) today, so maybe that has something to do with it...

All 100+ monitors!??!?! nope.
I've seen things like cell phones, Printer power supplies, speakers, Blackberrys and the like all do such things, but all 100 of them at the same time...

Just weird.

3 different main power supplies too.

If you are having regional power problems... you probably took a really short brownout/cutout. Long enough to drain the power supply but not long enough to reset the thing completely.

Many monitors need to be completely off for at least a few seconds to trip an automatic degaus propperly. There are some monitors that need to be off several minutes before they will auto degaus.

We used to get wierd stuff like that at one site I worked after electrical storms. Most of the time it doesn't hurt them.
