Sadly, we have decided to sell the Tiburon.
We have way too much going on that it doesn't make sense to have this brand new car just sitting around.
For those who don't know, last year I traded a black 86GT to Bob Parker at Kick Hill for a damaged 2001 Hyundai Tiburon he had purchased at auction. It had been in an accident, and as we all know insurance companies pretty much total everything now. This Tib is like brand new and my Dad has repaired all the damage so now you can't even tell it was ever in an accident., All damaged parts have been replaced with all new original Hyundai parts purchased at the local Hyundai dealer near us. No expense was spaired. The only damage it had was a direct hit to a pole in the very center of the front. It pushed in the front bumper rail, broke a headlight and parking lights and bent the hood.
The new hood has a brand new recent paint job on it by the dealer as well.
The hit was so clean that it didn't even move the front fenders so the suspension, alignement and frame were not effected.
It still has a couple of small scuffs on it, and a small ding in the rear fender which we haven't fixed.
The only main problems it still has that may keep it from passing an inspection anywhere in the US is that we have not replaced the blown air bags and it still has a salvage title.
It has only 14k miles on the "so clean you can eat off" engine. It runs and drives like new, is very quick and has lots of power as it is really almost still a brand new car.
It is a fully loaded 5 speed, factory CD player with full stereo speaker layout through out the car.
Hyundai dealerships are selling used 2001 Tiburons with 4 times the mileage or more for around 12 grand. This has only 14K original mileage, though granted it was in an accident and has a few hoops the next owner may have to jump thru to get the salvage title replaced with a regular one for registration and inspection.
Whoever purchases this car will not be dissapointed. You can own almost a new sporty car for a fraction of what you would usually pay.
Here is a picture just after we got the new hood painted:
Will post more pics and asking price in a few.
