How much does the typical 4-5hp Briggs and Stratton lawn mower engine need in CFM. I want to try a little experiment to try and get more HP out of it....it involves a computer fan

Depends on how big, etc.

5 hp is about 11.5 cubic inches
They run at about 3600 rpm.

11.5 cubic inches = .0067 cubic feet X 3600 rpm / 2 = 11.97 cfm X efficiency of the intake which is about .7 or so = 8.38 cfm, more or less.

Think about a leaf blower instead. I've actually seen a guy do that and he made 3 psi boost.

yeah but a computer fan is cheap, found one on ebay thats a tri-fan. A single cumputer fan puts about 32cfm so hooked to a 12 volt battery on the mower could boost the power some. The engine is 190CC

The CFM won't do anything if it doesn't have the power to make some PSI in the intake, and a computer fan won't.

Lawnmower engine displacement? I think 2.5, but that's for a riding lawnmower.
