The idle is very high. I can't get it down to where it should be. Anyone have one and know how those stupid boxes over the carbs are supposed to adjust the idle?

I'm going to the dunes in the morning (I hope), so I will be checking this every few minutes for the next couple of hours.

Thanks for any help.

boxes?, did you try adjusting your idels screws on both carbs, i have a 87 and 89 banshee, you might have a vacumn leak by your reeds, make sure the screws are tight on your clamp that holds the carburator to the rubber inlet hose to your reds, and make sure your reed bolts are tight, also make sure your air filter is on right, LMK

Thanx
Randy

Yeah, the TORS. It's been removed so the idle adjustment doesn't work now (remove the seat, look at the top of the carbs - boxes )

I've tried everything... no dice. It's around 1/4 throttle and I will hardly run under that, so I' just gonna ride it.

I'm gonna take a camera with us... wnat me to post some pics for ya? Maybe this time I will go home in the truck instead of Lifeflight

Kind of ashamed to say it, but after I spent 4 hours tearing the carbs out, it was the cable. I was adjusted wrong.

Other than half the paddles missing from the tires, and running out of gas about a mile out in the dunes, it was great. Today I am sore and stiff. Can't wait to go again!

And I made it back in the same vehicle that carried me in. No helicopter ride this time
