With Monkey bringing up smokes, I think we need to have a poll here. What is the official cigarette brand of us Fiero owners? I will tally up the votes and see who comes out the winner. Then I will see if we can hit up the tobacco company for free cigarettes!! Yahoo!!
My Vote: Winston Reds
Let the voting commence!

I try to respect other people's actions, as I don't like people telling me that something I do is bad or wrong, but I do believe that smoking is bad. I'm not too keen on drinking either.
But hey, I'm not telling anyone how to live their life, just my opinion.

TOM (no offense meant), you can't be "outta here" because of a cigarette thread. I wish I had never started and every day I stay away from them I thank my stars. It's a tough habit to break, but I can't be outta here because of this thread.
It's not illegal (I wish it were) and countless people are addicted to them (fact of life).
A lot of people lose loved ones to this habit, but it's exactly that ... a habit.

Don't get upset, Tom. It's just a conversation. What if someone in one of the movie threads said that they likes ****? It's not that big. I take it that you aren't a smoker. I'm happy for you, honestly. I wish I'd never taken up smoking, but it's a hard habit to break. Just because some of us smoke doesn't mean that we aren't nice people. I smoke and I happen to be just about the nicest person in the whole wide world! I hope you only meant the you were out of the thread, not the forum. We'd hate to lose you.
That said, I've been smoking the same brand for years. Basic Menthol Lights.

I am allergic to cigs. I cant imagine cig smells in my car. I gave a ride to a friend once and told him not to even think about lighting up so he didnt. Great respect huh? lol!
I quit "cold turkey" in 1988. Got tired of feeling like $#!+. Hardest thing I ever did.
Tom, I'm sorry about your Dad. My father had emphysema, heart disease, and M.D. Not sure exactly what he died of. Just wore out (at 72), but I feel like the cigs were a contributor.
Having said all that... I used to smoke Marlboro 100s. Can still tell when I pass someone who is smoking one. (Still want one, but not bad enough to act. It gets easier to resist, as time passes.)

Tom--Sorry to hear that. My mother-in-law passed away a couple of years ago from the same thing. You'd think it would teach me something, but apparently not yet.

Here in Canada, $6.50 per pack prices and "Smoking can kill you" warnings that cover 1/3 the front of a pack of cigarettes haven't had the effect the government wanted. Now they want to put pictures of yellow teeth and black, cancerous lungs on the packs. If you ask me, I think the young kids will just think that the pictures are "cool" and just keep on smoking. The government really doesn't want us to quit anyways. They're as "addicted" (tax revenue) to cigarettes as smokers are. BTW, I've a non-smoker for 3 1\2 years and counting.... It doesn't bother me anymore except sometimes when I'm sleeping I'll dream of smoking a cigarette.
I started smoking at age 15 and quit at age 22. It took me a couple of months of slowing down, but now that I have quit I can't stand the nasty smell of the cancer sticks. I have no intention of smoking again and I can't stand it when I even smell it...YUCK!!

My dad use to smoke all the time. These crappy cheap ass cigerattes. I always yelled at my mom to tell him to stop. I guess the camel and marbrols dam it cant spell. smelled better when burnt then the cheap ones. After many many years of smoking, and cigar smoking at his work, he finally quit about a year ago.
I use to be into camel cigerattes but i never smoked them. My friend and i use to get all the advertisements from the car magazines and his mother had about 300 c-nots. I told my mom to get the cigeratte packs so i can get the tshirt or the wind breaker which i still have. I just loved the camel catalog items but i new it was bad to smoke.
A friend of mine smokes a lot, hes older then me, 10 years. And some of that 60s stuff. Hearing him cough is bad. Cigerattes for us is about 4 bucks, to bad we cant lower the price of gasoline when we have this many smokers. Anyone seen the truckers protest in D.C. ?

I started smoking Marlboros when I was 17. I quit when I was 19. Developed an allergy to them. I've been smoke-free for 22 years! Can't stand 'em!!! I only tell people not to smoke in my home or my car, but I wouldn't think of telling someone not to smoke in their own home or vehicle. Sure wish they'd make all the restaurants smoke free though!

wow, i didn't know anybody actually smoked players I worked for 6 months at a warehouse up here that, among other things, shipped cigs to most of the midwest. I worked on the line that shipped to MN and WI. you wouldn't believe how many cartons go out every day. Marlboro light box seem to be the most popular.
My vote.. American Spirits blue pack.. only when I'm going to a party or the casino or something, tho. have never smoked more than a pack a week..

I've tried patches (allergic to the glue), gum (made me sick), and the pill (just didn't work). I think I'll try hypnosis next. (At least I've got the "sleepy" part down to a science!!)
A smoke free town?!?! Do they arrest you for smoking there or something?!? Mama pajama, this place seems more and more like a police state every day...

shiner, you CAN smoke in your house if you want, you just can't smoke in a public building or a resturant. Its ok to smoke out side of the building, just not inside.

Speaking of smoke free towns, the place I went to college in, Davis, CA is as smoke free as I heard, can't smoke withing 20 feet of any building (on public property that is), which makes it illegal to smoke on sidewalks, etc. And of course is CA , you can't legally smoke in any bar or restaurant

GT Bastard--I think most people start smoking bacause of peer pressure (that's why I started). As for stopping? That's a different matter altogether. Smoking is a habit. It's not just a matter of will power to most of us. If it was, I'd have quit long ago. It's a dirty, nasty habit that will probably kill me. Even knowing that, I just can't seem to put them down. I applaud any ex-smoker who has successfully quit. Someday, I'll be able to put down my cigarettes and walk away from them. (Hopefully before my funeral) But until then...
