I'm sure that many of you have seen this. If not, it's worth trying.
This works with MS Word 97. Open a blank Word document. Type the words "unable to follow directions" (without the quotes), and highlight them. On the menu bar, click "Tools".
Scroll down to "Language", and across to "Thesarus". It will give you a suggested replacement.
Note: I'm not sure what the results will be for a non-US version of Word.

One of your alternate choices is: "Unable to get an erection".

Cliff, Sorry you got left out of this one. I thought that might happen, with non-US versions.
There are one or two others. I'll have to see if I can remember them.
There is also a routine, hidden in Excel, that can be started by entering some really unlikely combination of keystrokes, that turns it into a sort of 3-D flight simulator, or some such. There is no telling *what* they've hidden in their applications.

I have to support Windows NT. I'm not going to make any remarks about Bill Gates being the anti-christ or anything like that, but...

I don't get the one Monkeyman listed either. Mine is SR-2 though. Maybe they caught it and "fixed" it. (Probably "fixed" whoever put it in there too.)

I've been a beta-tester for Windows for a few years, and here are a couple of messages that never made it into the final version:

"Backup not found: (A)bort, (R)etry, (P)anic?"

"Unable to format disk in drive A:. Trying drive C: instead..."

"Windows was unable to crash your network card. Do you want Windows to crash your video card instead?"

"New hardware found. Windows will now search for the best way to crash it"

"Your mouse has moved. Please restart Windows for the changes to take effect."

it does not work in word 2000.

Cliff, when you perform beta test for microsoft, do you use packard bell products exclusively? it certainly sounds like it.

How about:

"Would you like to include the system inventory with your registration?" followed by a complete list of your installed equipment and even some software packages.
