I have a friend that is looking for crash bolts for his Neon. He is wanting negative camber and needs these bolts to get what he needs. Anybody know where these can be found??
BTW, he races this neon and that is why he needs them.

I don't want to come across as a smart-a**, Peg, but some of those Neons can eat your Fiero for lunch. And I'm saying this as the biggest Fieroholic around. I think they even make a racing Neon. Always though of it as a Ferrari for the Yugo crowd until I actually saw one in action. Amazing performance for such an ugly car.
Boilermaker--What are "crash bolts"?

Yep, my daughter's 95 Neon is the basic 131HP version of the 2.0. It's 0-60 would probably not be far off of my Formula.
I know they had a Sport version with a 150HP 2.0 (DOHC???). I've seen R/Ts... don't know if they are faster or just stickers though. Dodge likes to make sleepers... anybody else remember 175HP 2.2 Turbo Omnis in the 80s???
Considering they weigh about the same (2,500 +/-) as a Fiero... you probably don't want to drag race anything beyond the "plain jane" with a stock Fiero...
I have not a clue what a crash bolt is...

I blew away a "Expresso" Neon complete with high performance exhaust. I had about 12 car lengths on him at 65 mph from a standing start. Of course this was with my V8 Batmobile Fiero. ***grin***

HF6582 (how about deciphering that handle for us?)--I got the same thing in the mail a couple of weeks ago. Still just a couple ugly marks above a Yugo, but apparently much faster. I don't think I'd want to run across one on a dark dragstrip.
batboy--I'm not up on Dodges (haven't liked them since the early '70s), but I'm pretty sure racing an Expresso is like racing your grandmothers Escort. Wasn't that the no-power-but-supposed-to-look-cute-and-so-very-trendy version? Or maybe that was the no-power-very-economical-in-an-Escortish-way-no-frills-not-even-an-automatic-what's-the-point version. I-forget-now.
I don't know anything about the Neons, except that they're ugly and that the do quite well in their SCCA class. I guess for what they are, they're fairly quick. Here is my original post about this... ummmm... race(?).
For the price of that racing neon you could be driving a full blown Fiero 3800 Supercharged with a Ferrari body kit. And be laughing as you blow the neon away with your 300 hp Fiero.
(Prices may vary)

OK, HF6582--Let's see...You live in a town named Hillsboro and you've set fire to a radio station 6,582 times. Oh, and you're cussing yourself for living up north. Dumb Stupid Northerner. Have I got everything right?

Monkey I think that close as we'll get to explaining it. I guess it should be changed to DSM (Dumb Stupid Midwesterner). Actually used to work for Hillsboro Fire District but I now live in Bonne Terre, MO

OK, now that we know everything else about the neon, does anybody know where my friend can get some crash bolts? Yes he races it, and I haven't seen how fast it is, but to each his own.
Just for the record , ain't no Neon blowing by my Fiero. Unless they pull so much NOS they are matching 265hp anyway.I don't have Batboy's V8, but it has a little pickup

I believe that crash bolts are oem supplied bolts that can be used to adjust camber, therefore keeping your car legal for whatever SCCA class it's in. Forgot the specifics, tho.

Correct, but the oem crash bolts aren't adjustable on the neon (according to my friend, again, I know nothing about it) so, he is looking for a different kind or replacement so that he can actually adjust them to get the alignment he needs.
