Yes Ferris has it in his collection of cars including Carmon's dads Ferrari California he had restored. Word was he wanted to bury John Hughes in the Fiero as a tribute.
Odds are it would prove to be very difficult to track this one down unless there was a strong paper trail I suspect there is none left at this point. Even if there was something special non the car it would still be difficult to find unless the paper trail was strong. Many Hollywood cars get lost with time only to have a few pop up later.
I just found were the last year of the Rockford Files Beauty shot Firebird has been found with only 13,000 miles. All the others are still unaccounted for.

I just saw the "hero" Delorean from the Back to the Future series. They used 6 DMCs for the movie, but this one was the one driven by the stars. This car was obviously much more famous than any Fiero, yet it too was left to rot somewhere, and had to be restored back to it's original condition.

Many Movie cars are lost or nearly lost.
The Trans Am's from Smokey and the Bandit 1 were all used up during the filming and scrapped. The last shot of them coming down the hill with the Semi behind them at the stock car race was the last to be filmed and it had to be pushed down the hill as the engine was blown. The one bandit car considered an original is the 78 Pontiac gave Burt for doing the movie. It was never in the film but at least Burt owned it.
The Cars from American Graffiti were all offered for sale after the filming. The coupe and 55 were not sold and wasted away on a back lot till they were sold to someone who asked. They have split up and changed hands. The coupe is in a collectors hands in SF and the 55 is in the hands of a guy on the east coast that has hacked it up some and will not sell it.
The Impala was sold to a kid in town where it was filmed and he spent the opening night at the local theater driving buy the movie house in his car. I think he paid $600. He still has it today in original condition and plans to keep it in the family.
The chopped Merc is rotting away on the east coast by a guy who plans to restore it some day. It was a mess the last time I saw it.
Life of a movie car is not easy even for the ones that were stars.
Odds are jennie's car more than not would have been sold off and may have been driven for years by someone who had not clue what the car was. It really was not a star like the faux Ferrari but we did notice it when no one else did.

Last month, I was in California and saw a wrecked Fiero with a Ferrari body kit in a junkyard. It was most likely from a movie as it had no engine or trans, no interior, no steering column or rack and the front wheels were fixed in the straight-ahead position (this yard was full of ex-movie cars). Probably impossible to tell; it might have played a major role or it could have just been used as a car in the background in a five-second shot in some long-forgotten bad movie. Interesting, though.

The Movie car from Stay Alive aka "Proud-2" has had a better life than some. The owner has kept it in the same condition as seen in the movie and was spotted at a car show in Texas back in April.

I wonder if that may be the one from The Rock?
They used a Fiero Ferrari that was pretty well gutted and crashed it up pretty well. I think it was like a 355 re body. What you described sounded like what they would have used as no one could have been in the car with what it did.
