Swapping to an F23. Can I convert my transmission cooler to an oil cooler, or is that unwise because of the distance?

It's unwise because the flow rate needed for the engine oil far exceeds the capacity of the lines and fittings of the transmission oil lines.

Thanks. Would it also be unsuitable for somehow converting it to cool the F23 or would that even benefit this transmission?

As Justinbart said, the manual transmission oil doesn't need cooling... it never gets hot. That's the reason the oil change interval is so long on manual transmissions.

That's what I was thinking, but I hate to just plug it up and have it there doing nothing. Oh well. Thanks.

The clutch line from the master to the slave runs in the same location as the trans cooler lines. Since you have to go in there anyway, just remove them then.

Or just ignore them. My car has two transmission coolers from when it was an auto and after I switched to the 6 speed I ignore them both.

Replace it with a manual radiator.

You shouldn't need to do anything with the tranny cooler in the radiator, unless it's leaking. You can literally just unplug the cooler lines and leave it like that. Or if you're paranoid, put a pair of pipe plugs in the empty holes. They should be a standard pipe thread size (like maybe 1/4" NPT).
