This may be here already but I didnt see it. Apparently the Fiero is one of the 10 worst cars for tall people... I don't know about you guys but I drive a fiero because I fit well with room to grow! Im 6-2 and have the drivers seat UP a couple notches cause with it all the way back I can barely reach the pedals. There is also plenty of arm and leg room!
I'm 6'3" and I can wear a hat in mine. I had a 79 Turbo Capri RS and I couldn't wear a hat. Now don't get me started on small cars because IMHO, the worst of the small cars for someone my height is the one of the 2nd Gen MR2s. I can't fit into the passenger side much less the driver's side.

Of the three cars I've owned, the Fiero is by far the most comfortable to drive...

Actually, the Fiero is on the preferred list for tall guys/gals. I think that the only people that would find the Fiero uncomfortable would be people less than five feet tall or more than three feet wide. No matter what size you are, if you have trouble getting up off the ground, then the Fiero likely is not for you ... :P .

At 6'4" I find the Fiero quite comfy. My brother, who is 6'8" and wears a 16 shoe loves his too (aside from some tweaking we had to do to move the pedals apart a bit).

I'm 6' 6" and wear size 15 shoe, and I fit fine, at least better then almost any car of the same size. The one newer car I did fit VERY well in (for the size) was the latest generation of VW Golf GTI.
Jalopnik is getting crappier quality articles. It's like reading Yahoo! comments. They obviously have never sat in a Fiero.
And an F1 car being hard to get in? The cockpits of F1 cars are custom built to the driver. They also apparently have never seen tall man Alexander Wurz squeeze into a Benetton when he drove for Benetton F1. When he replaced Gerhard Berger in 1997 for his injuries mid-season Wurz had half a foot on Berger in height so Benetton had to redesign the cockpit for him.
No matter what size you are, if you have trouble getting up off the ground, then the Fiero likely is not for you ... :P .
This more then anything. I fit comfortably in my Fiero at 6' 1-1/2" but... The arthritis I have in my neck made it painful for me to get in and out of it. It's not so much that I have trouble getting off the ground, just the way I had to stoop to get in and out put pressure on my shoulder and neck area. Sadly that's one of the things that lead to me selling it even with how much I liked it. Still, probably within the next 3 or so years I will own another, but it will be for my daughter to drive.

I had a 86 Golf (or was it 85... I forget, same generation either way). I fit in it just fine also and it was probably the least problematic car I ever owned. With the exception of breakpads and tires, the only thing i had to replace on it over the 5 years I owned and drove it was the clutch cable, which I had to replace twice. The seond time I had to replace it was within a month from the first time so I think the cable I got was defective.

Well, imo, that article if regarding the Fiero, is pure un-adulterated BullS**t!!!
I read long ago in a book about the Fiero, that one of the VPs at Pontiac at the time the car was in development, insisted that he would not approve the car for production unless he could fit his 6ft. 5 inch frame comfortably in the car......Sweeeeet.
I personally am 6' 3" and love the comfort in these little 2 seaters. A guy I know who collects cars, said he wondered how a man as big as me could fit into such a small car, but found out after getting in himself and said that it was a surprise for him to realise that he needed to bring the seat forward to fit his 6 ft body for driving.
Another friend has a BMW Z3 and sitting in that car was pure torture for me....ouch.

A buddy of mine (who also has a Fiero) told me he drove a Pontiac Solstice (same as the Saturn Sky as well) once and was very surprised that the leg room was very cramped. He commented that the "older, less sophisticated" Fiero was much roomer and comfortable than the "newer" offering.... which surprised him.

Yea I'd like a new one...can't even think of affording it though right now.

there are 3 of them in a 2 seater....he's practically on the other guys lap. A fiero has plenty of room for 2 people (even "big and tall" guys) but 3? No way. Is this a scene from a movie, or does Walberg drive a nice looking Formula?
