A few weeks ago, there had been a post about a junkyard database, to see where you could find cars in a junkyard, but I can't seem to find it anymore, because I forgot to bookmark it. Anyone have it saved in their bookmarks? If so, can you send it to me, or post it here?

Perfect! They're like 5 miles from my house! I guess I'll be stopping there on Saturday.

I went a few weeks ago and spotted several throughout the junkyards near the airport. There are a few down Illinois St. just north of Irvington (http://g.co/maps/z33qb), and some more down the route between Irvington and Valencia (the one chasebmx mentioned is on that route - http://g.co/maps/gv472). I found an '85 at one with some interior parts I need, but I currently don't have the money to go back and get them

If there's that many in Tucson, I may be able to make a little side money from them.

PM me with what interior parts you need, and I can try to pick them up for you (depending on the cost), so they don't get taken by someone else before you are able to stop by again.

I hate to make your day worse, Doober, but I couldn't pass up the deal he gave me. He wanted to get rid of everything he could, so he let me take all the interior, and doors for $150. I'll be swapping stuff with my '84, and if any of my '84 stuff is what you need, you can have it for free.

Probably... was it D.P.'s salvage? That's where I saw it... nice yard. No hard feelings, at least someone here got it.

What color is your interior? Mine is gray like the '85 was. I have visors with the little pockets and the '85 didn't, which wasn't really a big deal to me.

Yep. Gray/silver 85.

My interior is all light grey. It's not horrible, it's just the typical shrinking, and cracking on the dash (i have a darker grey dash I picked up in Phoenix for $40, so if you need it, $10 and its yours. The air ducting mounts need to be fixed, though, as many of them have broken. The dash vinyl is in great shape, though. A few hairline cracks that arent easily noticeable). I will take some pictures for you in the morning when there's light.

What stuff were you looking at? While sorting through my '84s interior, I can let you know what I have that is salvageable/in decent condition.

The '88 is already totally stripped down to the frame, and the engine is totally gone, along with the cradle. Theres a few misc things, like a door glassthats slightly scratched, the window motor and lift, and some other stuff. I'll be there again on Monday to finish pulling stuff (still have to pull the doors, a&b pillars, etc)

Either of you need the sunroof, or headlight relays?

My sunroof and lights are fine, I was mainly after the headliner and visors. My carpet has seen better days but it's still in decent shape.

I can pull those for you, since those are the 2 things I don't need (no sunroof on mine, and I had already bought visors).

THANK YOU for taking the seats!! You made my job VERY easy for pulling the interior out. Sorry to hear they're torn up already, though.

What year was your alternator from? A rebuild kit was only $20 for my '84, which replaced all the electronics, the brushes, and the bearing. Took about 30 minutes to do.

I'll see what he wants for the alternator on Monday. Worst case, I can pull the alternator from my '84, and sell it to you (I'm planning to buy a new one, anyways, because it doesn't seem to be able to keep up with the demand when the blower motor, radio, and headlights are on, even after the rebuild).

If you get it from O'Reilly, and they say it's the GMA-01, its actually the -02 (or the other way around. It's not the one they list for it). The only difference is one small piece, but that is one of the vital pieces for its proper function.

I hate to brag, but you guys missed out big on that one. The console skeleton is in perfect condition (I already took it, since mine is toast). That and the glovebox part alone were worth the $80 to me.

The top pictures are the ones of the dark grey dash. I forgot to take a pic of the whole dash, though.

Unfortunately, they're only eastern states. Good for our easterners, though!

There is a local yard to me that has I think 4 fieros but all are bumperpads and none of them are in very good shape at all. Cars have been sitting in the weeds for years. But that being said I am sure there are tons of good parts still available. Yard is called Ace Auto Salvage in Tonica, IL.
