OK, I found my next car. Love it. anymore info........
I've always wanted to do a choptop, widebody, stretch, with a LS3/Audi trans. I don't want to do a kit, i'd still like it to "resemble" the Fiero. When I look at that car, I kind of see what a Fiero w/ 10" stretch may look like. If I squint a little.

your right, sort of.. Its the 2008 Vector Avtech WX8
quote
The Vector Avtech WX8 is powered by a transverse, supercharged, all aluminum, 7.0 Liter (427 cubic inch), port fuel injected, 16 valve high-performance V8 engine, with dual air to air intercoolers and twin sequential flow, side mounted radiators. The Supercharged engine has horsepower potential to 1200+hp. The normally aspirated version, is in the range of 600 to 700 hp. Vector claims the car can reach a top speed of 260-270 mph and makes the 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds.
The all new aerodynamic high down-force WX3 body incorporates both hard edge and soft design features including: huge integrated inlet and exhaust ducts for heat exchangers, an extended tail with a high mounted, low drag symmetrical inverted high down-force airfoil wing spoiler that enhances high speed stability with aeroflaps.

Now I know what I can do if I run across a Camaro with a totalled rear half. I can make me a $700,000 sports car for a few grand. Those Camaros (and Firebirds) are almost all plastic bodied too.
Funny, the web page I found it on said it wasn’t a Vector but clearly it is (if you look at the Vector web site). My only comment is Vector needs to come to the 21 century when it comes drive trains. I’m also not buying the engine specs (either of them). You can get small and big blocks up to that kind of horse power but not for long. To make the reliable (and drivable) you need to keep them lower. The bugatti Veyron, currently the fastest production car in the world, is an 8.0 litter (487.8 cu in) W16 configuration with 4 turbos and runs at 1001 hp.
Great looking car that in my opinion doesn’t need all that horsepower.
