There are "only" 62 pages of search results for "mirror". I did manage to find this thread:

https://www.fiero.nl/forum/A...001019-1-001475.html

A couple of good ideas there but no pics.

It is an archived topic so I couldn't bring it back so I'd like to continue that theme here. I have been thinking about what I will do with the hole in my driver's door panel after I change to Power Mirrors. What I keep falling back on is to find a cover for a small interior light similar to a trunk light lens that would cover the hole. Then I could use interior paint to match the door panel or just paint it black to contrast. Then I would glue it down.

A second Idea is to use an old non-raised-number license plate and cut two rectangles the size of that hole. Then I could drill holes in them and put one on the outside and one on the under side of the door panel and pop rivet them together. Maybe that would make a cool place for my own "data plate" that I could add on top.

Any other suggestions?

How about a nice little soft dome tweeter from a seperates set to upgrade your stereo with? You could also put a little rubber grommet with a red led that blinks to show your new security system is online? How about a series of holes with some custom accents out of stainless or something to accent other bits on your interior..... The possibilities are endless. peace and good luck..

The easiest way is to utilize the existing manual mirror bezel and install the Ford mirror switch instead of the Fiero switch. The writeup can be found in Ogre's cave

Why not just changing the panel to the P/W (no hole) type?

Yup, what he said. It'll give you the best finished look and you should be able to find one fairly easily.

It is from a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am, I was having the same issue of a large hole on the top of the door where the Manual Mirror adjustement lever was.. With this find it resolves having to get the door panel redone... as you can see in the pics below it looks OEM.... I found the schematics for the controller stick (below) to wire in the mirrors..

The GP mirrors guts and controller ... I removed it from the plastic flange and inserted it into the fiero OEM manual mirror flange.. fits just great

GP Controller with the plastic flange removed

The power mirrors control switch is located in the Fiero OEM manual mirror location.. looks discrete and made more room in the center console for my Audi TT shifter ring and boot.

If you have any questions let me know

Why not get new door panels? Because mine are so nice that I'd rather keep them.

Why not use the Ford switches or other? Because I already bought a complete Fiero PM set.

I must say I like all the ideas and pics! Thanks for the ideas.

I bought a full PM swap too ... kept the mirrors and sold the buttons and wires ... made money by swapping in GP PMs

I don't have mine in yet so I haven't tested them. If I have any trouble, I'm likely to try your solution.
