Based on an Illinois plate (LSTYR88)I saw in an old FOCOA magazine, I decided to go with LASTYR88. Ontario allows 8 characters.
And wouldn't you know it, at the 25th anniversary show, I got to meet the author/creator...Jim Hallman. Thanks Jim
This pic was taken at the Marriott in Pontiac, while we were checking in. The Yukon also has vanity plates, but it's simply my name and has a snowmobile logo.
I am pleased as punch. No pic yet BUT Mine are ordered ALL-SHO (no go). I had them back in 1980 when I had my 1964 Corvette Roadster 327/365hp. Daytona Blue (looks black without direct sun. The guy didn't renew them and I have them back after 29 years. Plus TX now allows 8 digits. They should be in next week. I will post the pic on my 1988 GT recently painted Black sapphire ( dark blue looks black without direct sunlight). It is a Lexus color.
Had: 1-N-2286 on my 1968 SS396 Chevelle convertible (there were only 2286 built in 1968) U-LYK-IT on my 1970 LT1 T-Top Vette with Mako body kit on it. (you like it) V8-MNZA for my 10 second street legal 1977 V-8 Monza Spider with Tubs narrowed 9". Tons I have forgotten about.
Aint cheap but another accessory for my car.
Plate Type: PERSONALIZED PLT Plate Number: ALL*SHO Amount: $40.00 Aint cheap but another accessory for my car.
Since moved to the Fino Body:

Yea and the front plate RUINS the good looks of the Fiero front end. Got pulled over for no front tag when I first bought my GT and it had been driven it TX for over 6 years without a front tag. http://rts.texasonline.state.tx.us You have to enter 6 digits in the first screen before you can get to the screen for 8.

Thanks!! That is completely non-intuitive. The "Check for availability" tool is still only working for 6 digits...but if you go several screens into the future, you finally reach the 8 digit tool.
HOWEVER, there's a catch...it still doesn't work.
When I went to add the 8 digit plate to my cart it gave me an error and said that license plates can't have more than 6 letters and numbers.

I'm going to call when they open this morning. I think the information I was given was semi-correct. 8 CHARACTERS but only 6 letters/numbers. Will let you know.

When I sent for a vanity plate, I thought about my Fiero.nl username, but then decided that was tempting fate. Instead I choose
1SEAT 4U
Worked on the 2-seater till I got my girlfriend, but she seems to be ok with it since she knows it's "just for her".

i got this for me and my 87 Mera for our (really just my) birthdays in Feb.
Mera X- because I do not know the Mera build # (XX out of 88) .I should have gotten "MERA XX" did not see it till later, the double digit would keep people from thinking like Roman # for 10=X if i did know my build # the plate would reflect that #....one day it will happen. almost a full year now as a Fiero owner, and anything that is messed up on my car i did recently. as far as the car its self, alls good.....no problems... later Dan

who is the lady lol? id like to get "PUDLZ" (most likely available lol) or even better, "FI_ERO" as i will likely soon have a Fi Car Audio system in my Fiero and planned to start calling it the Fi-Ero (pronouncing the "i" like "eye" instead of "ee"). that is probably taken already tho
