My daily driver is badly in need of some TLC. So I've been doing some things to freshen her up a bit.

First of all, she's in for a body panel off repaint at Outlaw's Rod and Customs in Norfolk, VA.
See the progress of that work here: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/F...1/HTML/084929-2.html

The other thing she needs REALLY BADLY is an update/upgrade to her 23 year old suspension. So, while the body is off getting painted, the replacement suspension parts went off to Powder Coating.

Here's what's come back...

Much more work to do...will post more later.

Bob,
Quit teasing - you're supposed to unwrap the parts before taking pics!

This is the suspense part. Makes you want to come back to see the stuff unwrapped. Then come back to see how it will look installed. Etc.

If I unwrap them, I gotta use them. This way they stay looking good!!!

But I do need to protect them until it's time to assemble. Soon...Very soon.

Even with the wrapping on, I can tell that cradle is looking pretty sharp.

Is it getting the Duke, or are you looking for an Ecotec to put in there?

One engine swap at a time Dobey. The LS3 goes first.

A new engine for the driver is still a ways in the future. But that engine will be one designed for better economy than an LS.
Turbo'ed Ecotec sounds like a good choice. Or maybe one of the new GM family V-6's. Decisions...Decisions...Decisions

Okay, so I know it's been a while since I posted anything on the rebuild. It's been a busy summer, but I've managed to find a little time to make some progress.

The front bushings have been pressed in and the control arms are back in place.

Nothing is tightened down yet, just being fitted. HT Motorsports came through and the spindles arrived earlier this month.

But the question I have is on the spacing for the lower control arms. When the control arms were removed, they fit snuggly into the brackets on the subframe. With the new bushings installed, there is a gap between the bushing and the inner plate (see the below pic).

Any recommendations for spacers?
