Yeah, I took the '85 out of storage FINALLY.

Step 1: Collector car insurance. $59.03 for 6 months.

Step 2: Antique vehicle plates. $24 for 4 years plus a $12 fee to the currency exchange.

Step 3: New battery. I got one from O"Reily's in October of 2009 and it turned out to have a 2-year free replacement warranty, so that cost me nothing.

Step 4: Car wash to get all the crud off.

Step 5: First cruise night since 2005.

I feel GOOD.

It's good to see more Fieros on the road. I can't wait to get one of my own.

Also, are there any perks to having antique vehicle plates other than looking great and being different?

Heh, I knew that Illinois was run like a different country, but I didn't realize you guys had your own currency! What does that mean exactly, the currency exchange part?

Oh, good to see you get it back out. Fiero's are meant to be enjoyed!

A currency exchange is where you can:

1) Wire money
2) Pay bills
3) Renew license plates
4) cash checks (if you don't have a bank, for example)
5) buy money orders
6) ...and do other things like send and receive faxes, get documents notarized, etcetera.

And yeah, they'll convert foreign currency to dollars. (Not the other way around.)

I can't even imagine, mine was down for alittle over two months while I painted it, the day I finished puting all the panels on, waxed etc, I was outside 11am - 1am, I took it up and down the road that night, it was amazing! I don't think I ate that day, a picture from that night is actually my profile picture at the moment.
