should they have changed the name when they moved the transmission to the rear?
should they have changed the name when they moved the transmission to the rear?
I really wish everyone on here would stop assuming "mid-engine" means "move it to the rear." Because it doesn't. The current Corvette is mid-engined. The term means "placement of the engine between the front and rear axles." And I really doubt that GM would waste money converting the car to RMR at this point in time. Alienating loyal Vette buyers isn't going to make them more money, nor will attempting to compete with the Italians by making a $150K+ supercar out of the Vette.

Let's just hope they concentrate on the Corvette's quality issues. I had a C5, and it had more problems than my 27 year old Fiero. Ever had a steering column lock up on you? Tons of electrical gremlins? Things just fall off the car? Last new GM car I ever bought. And I'm still bitter.
+1
Worst built car. Cheap plastic center dash console too that cracked when some fat mechanic pushed of it to get out of my car.

Cool. That means the Model A and Model T Fords were "mid-engine."
