im always doing stuff to this car so i figured i might as well start a build thread. ill start off with pictures ive taken of it throughout my ownership of it
heres what it looked like the day i bought it before i brought it home

then after it arrived home on a roll back

right away i replaced the old shifter which was a stock shifter cut in half with the boot and a knob glued onto it

and i replaced the steering rack

put new master and slave cylinders in it after they both went on my way home from a friends house
only have a picture of the master cylinder though

replaced the old exhaust that was full of holes

got a new front emblem from the fiero store

poly urethane end links

first car show

another shift knob

new spark plug wires after a leaking manifold burned the old ones and i just finished fixing that leak when this was taken

my serpentine belt on my way to school one mourning

at the shortbus crew meetup a few months ago behind pk and daveyhouse's cars

painted the plenum

fiero seat belt pads

at the cookout after petes fiero cruise

and how it sits now after it failed inspection

so what i have to do now is wait for my parts to arrive then put on a new drivers side rear e brake cable and the equalizer, replace all the rear trailing arm bushings with poly urethane bushings, and replace the front sway bar end links with poly urethane end links. i thinks it.
so anyways ill have lots of updates to come when my parts get here and when i decide to tweak things. for now the car is staying mostly stock mechanically and for as long i own it will keep the stock appearance. i still haven't decided if i want to do an engine swap with or not.

i just got bored waiting for parts so i decided id make another attempt at getting rid of my belt squeal and tighten the serpentine belt. so after i tightened it i decided id start it up and see if it squeals so i pushed the button to open the garage door and started to open the car door when i hear the garage door start raping my deck lid. it shoved the decklid so hard into my back window i cant believe it didn't break it. then i tried to at least continue what i was going to do after being very pissed off at that but the garage door decided that wasn't enough so it wanted to open back up instead of stopping halfway open so it banged my decklid into the back window another 2 times. at that point the f word was out a few times and so i just shut the door completely and took a look at what it did. i saw a nice gouge in the lip so another f words came up and i got pissed off enough as i was walking away to kick the front bumper so i might've done more damage. it really pisses me off when i try to take care of something so much and then $h!t like this happens.

Great job on all the work you have done, keep the pics rolling

That's gotta suck. I feel for you man, like you said be glad it didn't take out your rear window.

Hey maybe this is a good reason to mod your rear deck lid - I was thinking of removing the wing and making a 3 piece lip spoiler out of it. Maybe make some scoops

i prefer to keep the body stock but idk i might consider a lip spoiler that would hide the gouge in the deck lid but then i would have 4 holes to deal with.

i calmed down enough to go look at it and i took pictures. its not to bad but i really love this car and hate when something like this happens. i can probably just put a little bit of bondo in there and get some touch up paint that matches the car instead of the crap i bought at autozone for some other spots.

and the part of the decklid that hit the window

there were scuffs there before because some moron before me decided to cut the straps the hold the decklid from doing that but now i have some deeper scratches to enjoy. you can see the ones that look like little white slits are the ones that just engraved themselves into the paint.

also the spot where i kicked the bumper was fine it just had a scuff on it from my shoe that came right off.
now we have a tornado warning too what a wonderful day. they say its possibly already touched down but they don't know. i don't see anything happening though its pennsylvania when there actually is a tornado it doesn't last very long.
woops meant to edit my post not quote it

got my bushings today and struggled with the control arms on the passenger side for a while and got 2 of them off but im still trying to get the third one off then i can start on the other side. i also burned the bushings out of the first 2. hopefully ill at least finish getting it apart tomorrow when i get home from work then i can get that all together by Friday night maybe and start on the front and replace the drivers side ebrake cable.

mmmmm fresh polly urethane

i burned the bushings out of the 2 drivers side trailing arms and tried putting the passenger side back together so i can take the 3rd one off and everything went ok until i tried to get the inside adjustable trailing arm bolt in. no matter what i do all i can do is get the bolt in through one side and it goes through until it gets to the other side of the mount and just wont line up. i cant get it in from that side either it just wants to be as stubborn as it can be and not line up. the drivers side has at least been going smoothly so far (knock on wood) so hopefully that will go together nicely tomorrow then i can get the third one off that side and finish this thing. the rest of my parts came today too so after i finish the back end i have bushings for the front to put on and my ebrake cable and put a new front passenger side brake hose on. hopefully the ebrake works after this and the backed stops moving around then i can get an inspection sticker and take it for a nice long drive.

i finished the bushings in the back end and put the back wheels on and got no wheel play what so ever so i put the front wheels back on and got it off the jackstands and took it for a drive and was amazed at how much better it drove! it feels like driving a bran new fiero. it felt unsafe at speeds above around 60 before and now it felt very secure way past that.
