It unplugs. If you look towards the firewall you'll see the three wire connect going down to the tank. It's usually placed behind the catalytic converter heat shield. You can also see it from below with the car up in the air.

It unplugs. Here's a pic of it unplugged. If I could look through the engine it would be HERE against the firewall. Coming through the insulation just below the large harness.
Hope this helps!
Cheers, Cody

Unplugs. Here is a pic of mine on my duke. I cut the top of the pic off. >.< At the top of the pic is the connector. You can see some of it but not all.

i have a 87 4 cyl school driver and the pump went bad i got the pump out but dose it unplug or do u just cut the wires???
When you say you've got the fuel pump out, do you mean just the pump, or the whole sender assembly with the float and the tubes? Both unplug, the whole assembly unplugs at the firewall as others have said, the fuel pump itself unplugs right at the top of the pump. The terminals plugged into the top of the pump have release tabs you press and just pull the connector off.

I'm not trying to talk **** or even talk down to you. I'm glad you have a lot of interest and you're working on your own cars. I'm just suggesting that you find somebody knowledgeable to sometimes help you when you do so. You obviously have a lot to learn. My goal wasn't to offend you and I'll be the first to admit that there's a lot I have yet to learn as well. My point to you is that its a lot easier when you have somebody to learn from. That way you have a chance to learn from others mistakes and not always your own. Yeah, you can make up for that by asking questions on the forum but what's the point in doing so if you don't even listen to the responses you get?
Oh, and its neat that you have so many fieros. Honestly, though, I've always preferred quality over quantity when it comes to cars. Good luck with your projects and I'm glad your car is up and running again.

Again, what I said wasn't meant to offend you. I'm glad you have the interest and you were able to get the car running. Like everybody else in the world though you have a lot to learn. What I was trying to say is that now is the easiest time in your life to take advantage of that and I was trying to help out by getting you to consider that. And yeah cutting three wires isn't a big deal although it was grossly unnecessary. That was never really the point.

And that would also have to be one of the worst shops I've ever heard of if they couldn't diagnose/change a fuel pump over ten year span. It's not much to brag about being "faster" than that. I am glad you got it running though.
