Just curious how many people here are/have been in the military. I'm a week away from reporting to The Basic School down in Quantico Virginia for the Marine Corps.

Spent several years aboard the US Coast Guard Cutter Steadfast out of St. Petersburgh, Fla. Followed by two years as a C-130 navigator/avionicsmen flying out of USCGAS Sacramento, California. Civilian now and sometimes wish I was still in the Coast Guard. Now in East Tennessee and have not seen the ocean since our last vacation to Fla. Damn I miss Florida!! peace

Former US Army here, 1984 to 1994. Spent time in SC and Georgia for training, then on to Korea, Washington State, Germany, & AZ during my time. Loved it, but don't regret moving on. Been back in East Tennessee since 1995.

Active duty Air Force. 14 months away from retirement, and 2 months away from my final deployment! I wish you good luck, and God speed my friend! I remember when I was about to ship out for boot camp. Time certainly does fly!

Just celebrated 17 years in Uncle Sam's Canoe Club. Currently serving on USS Carl Vinson somewhere in the Arabian Sea. Former Chief Journalist and combat cameraman, now a 6470 LDO Photography Officer converting to Public Affairs Officer.
With workups and deployments, I've got plenty of at-sea time to think about what I'm going to do with the Fiero. The downside is that I then only get a few months of wrenching time before we go back to sea and the project goes on hold again. Definitely looking forward to some good shore duty.

I would like to suggest that everyone possible get veteran plates especially combat plates if you can. They have gotten me out of more tickets, even with state troopers. Even from a state trooper when I was out of state. I was in Pittsburg wearing all Cleveland Browns gear and got a written warning.

6 years Army Reserve as a Civil Affairs guy. Actually used my deployment money to buy my Fiero. It was fun, but I made the call to just go IRR for my remaining 2 years.
