I'm looking for ideas on how to make a dipstick for my 3.4 dohc. It seems like i could use steel brake line hose and bend to fit. But then what to use for the dipstick since a normal dipstick won't bend enough for what I need.

Thanks
Ryan

I have seen some dipsticks that are a cable with a little thing at the end to mark low and high. I think on BMWs and stuff. Those seem very flexible in all directions.

Our friends the street rodders use a piece from LOKAR. It is a flexable Stainless Stell Braided tube with its own narrow dipstick. There is a jam nut system at the top to put into any fabbed up bracket. They may offer one.

Typically used on the ever popular SBC. Length puts the top at about the exhaust manifld, convenient for the upper bolt on hanger.

Check them out, I'm sure they have a web-site.

Thanks for the help.

It seems like i tried what you posted joshua but isn't a larger bend then it looks in the pics, to where it is hard to pull the factory dipstick out?

There were 2 dipsticks. The one with the yellow loop was thinner and easier to use. you can also get a longer dipstick from probably any GM engine, just take a trip to the junkyard.
