Well, I guess I don't get to take my favorite drive down the Big Sur coastline for a while.

Yesterday a big section of the road was washed away, just north of the Rocky Creek Bridge. They say it will be closed for at least a month, maybe longer.

Is that the high arch bridge where they like to do all the car ads?

They usually use the Bixby Bridge for the photos. The Rocky Creek Bridge is very similar but located a little bit north of the Bixby, it is the next bridge traveling north.

There are photos of the bridges on Google Earth.

It's getting worse. Apparently they have found more cracks in other parts of the road.

I remember that road in the late 60s.

It is a beautiful drive

I hope that they can repair it

It is a dream that someday I'll run my Dragon up that road

How bout 17 (skyline highway). RUN A DETECTOR, sooooo many cops but a LOT of little roads to bail off on. If your on a bike, you got nothing to worry about.
