I was looking at exhaust videos and discovered this video (below). I'm wondering if any of you guys know where I can get one of these spintech mufflers, and what specifically is required for this? I'm assuming it's not a Fiero exhaust system, and instead a muffler that needs to be adapted to the exhaust?
the whale tail threw me off......or lack of in the first vid. cool sound. gives me ideas.

Hah, I didn't even notice that, but it's the same color, etc. I'm guessing maybe he added it afterwards.
One of the things I noticed is the sound of the starter. I think when I rebuild the rear of my car, I'm definitely going with one of those newer replacement hi-torque starters. They certainly sound a bit nicer.
I have a pair of Spintechs on mine, in the tip cavities. I combined them with Car Chemistry inserts to bring down the decibles a bit.
The fella at Spintech was very helpful with my fitting problem and the units I have are the 7" with stainless steel mesh on the walls. The mufflers are fabricated out of heavy guage steel and I was impressed with how strongly they are built.
To be perfectly fair, though, I prefer the Magnaflow sound. But, the Spintech is less money and a well made product. I am happy with them.

I have a Spintech on my 88 GT. I got it from http://westcoastfiero.com/ I didnt get the whole cat back system. Just the muffler. It did not require anything special to be mounted. I just took it to a local shop and had them weld it in.

I have a stainless steel SpinTech muffler on my 1988 with a 3.4DOHC. Mine came from West Coast Fieros as well. I mounted it in the stock location using the stock spring-mount method. That required fabbing up and welding hooks on the SpinTech like the original. I was also concerned about its closeness to the cradle on the driver's side, so I cut and welded in a relief on that side. Probably not necessary, but I didn't want to have to pull it back down if it was hitting later.

I really prefer the sound of the Flowmaster muffler I purchased from WCF about 10 years ago. I don't know how to do the "sound clip" thing, but perhaps someone with the capabiltiy and a Flowmaster can weigh in. Incidentally, the Flowmaster guarantee claims are true, at least for my muffler. Happy Holidays!! bb

Hey, that's my son's video he made about a year ago!
My son bought the Spintech mufflers directly from the Spintech website and had the local muffler shop install them. The size he bought was 4x9x13 with 2" in and dual 2" out which barely fit in the space. The video also, shows his 88GT in various stages of modifications. The end of the video shows the stock rear wing installed with the lowered pedestals and the 17" wheels.
