While back in KS, I was visiting with John Stricker. I faked falling asleep so everyone would go to bed. Once I was sure John and Sandi were off to the land of dreams, I snuck out and drove his big tractor around at W. O. T. I don't think he ever knew.

A McLaren F1? a Ferrari Maranello AND a VVT Diablo? With such a wide selection of cars, especially the McLaren F1, are you in the exotic car business? If so, can you post a picture of this $1 million dollar lmasterpeice? What was it like to drive? You da man!

Carroll Shelby (born 1923) was a late bloomer, in 1941 when he joined the Army Air Corps he was 5ft. 2in @ 100lbs (18 years old). Through his career he keep growing attaining height just over 6 ft tall with considerable weight gain, today at 87 years old, I'm sure he's shrunk a little due to age. My guess is that owners of Cobra's that are tall, have made some pretty serious changes to foot well area/pedal positions, and figured out a way to reposition seat rearward. I've never seen one with these changes though.

Just a lot of trains for me, mostly freight but some passenger and commuter. I did drive a friends 69 Corvette 427 convertible a few years back, flat out probably 140mph+ I didn't want to look at the speedometer.

Hmmmm ... define "exotic" for me, and then take your pick:
- 1953 Jaguar XK120 roadster ... my daily driver for one magical, memorable summer - 1951 Riley 2.5 saloon (sedan), into which I had swapped a slightly-race-prepared 215 cu-in aluminum Buick V-8 - 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa (RHD) race car - 1937 Cord 812SC Sportsman Convertible Coupe - several pre-WW-II Packards and Rolls Royces - 1969 Porsche 911S ... my daily driver for ~15 years, reportedly now in a car museum somewhere - 1980 Porsche 928 ... my daily driver for ~12 years - 1988 Fiero Formula ... my first (and current) mid-engined project car
All of the above were driven on public roads. I also got to drive the 911S around the old long (~14 mile) Nurburgring race course in Germany. Then there were the motorcycles and airplanes ...

I haven't driven anything really exotic, just my '59 Austin-Healey Sprite, a BMW Z8, a '64 Corvette convertible, a Ferrari 308 GTSi & a '69 Lotus Elan. Well.....there is the Los Angeles class fast attack nuclear submarine I "drove" back in the early 90's (USS Dallas; SSN-700). I guess that's sort of exotic.

I have driven all kinds of cars from an 8 second funny car to Lamborghini's, Ferrari's, hot rods and many other customs and all where fun but I still love the Fiero because of the unlimited potential of it to be anything you want it to be
well its not really an exotic but not to many people get to drive one. i got to drive a 2008 charger police edition, i was working at a dodge dealer it had a steering colmn problem. other than that hyundai gennisis v8 really fast and suprising for a hyundai the one i drove only had 4 miles on it, i also worked for them when they came out. new camaro v8 agin working for chevy when they came out, had like 5 miles on it. really fast, fun, and cheep a bunch of older corvettes many others but cant rember all being a mechanic does have its advantages sometimes, but usually you just see crap like a 96 ford escort

I owned a 69 Stingray. When I was transporting cars I drove a lot of great cars.
69 ford Mustang Mach 1 69 Pontiac GTO Judge Aston Martin DB9 and Vantage Porsche Carrera GT3 - one word "fast". 430 Ferrari Austin Healey - Now this was a trick because I'm over 6' but fun none the less. Maserati Gran Turismo Rolls Royce Silver Cloud limo. Bentley Continental

Lets see here I have driven a 1932 ford model a with a 327 and a Muncie, a couple of g35/ 350 z's, a porche boxter, and a couple of old vettes and the odd chevelle the model a is my favorite it is very quick and handles like a go kart. I've always wanted to own a 550 maranello though.

Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to drive very exotic vehicles. Let's see...I owned a C4 Corvette for 10 days (before I totaled it)...I used to deliver computers in Manhattan in a BMW 740i...but I really don't consider those to be exotic.
If we are going most expensive, I drove a $2.5 million troupe van filled with classified equipment when I was in the Air Force. Drove it off road. I can confirm that the thing is NOT able to spin the tires on dry pavement.
Really though...what I consider to be the most exotic is my friend's 2005 Lotus Elise. He was trying to decide whether to buy a sports car or a motorcycle...so he ended up with a sports car that has all the practicality of a motorcycle. It is a fun car though, especially living in the mountains. It isn't really very fast...but there is nothing out there that will handle the twisties like an Elise.
Last time I drove it:

I see that our lists are quite "extensive" which tells me a lot of us are well out of puberty. I wont get into cars I drove as that list could get too long. But, because I am a complete and total car nut I have owned a lot crazy stuff, at last count 91. Here is my "more sporting/exotic listing: (just remember that because of my age most were purchased well before they were "cla$$ics): 1966 mustang 1964 corvette convert. 1966 corvette fast bk. (owned it twice) 1966 mustang convert. 1970 datsun 240z 1979 mustang pace car 1972 vw bug herbie replica (not exotic but fun) 1967 corvette convert. 1979 bmw 733i 1965 mustang GT calif car 1978 excalibur series 3 (454) 1970 excalibur series 2 1965 corvette convert. with hooker side pipes 1984 subaru brat turbo-I still miss this one 1957 t-bird 1967 mustang convert 1965 vw baja bug 1986 fiero gt 1989 acura legend- 5 spd. 1966 mustang convert 1997 bmw z3 1987 rolls-royce silver spur lwb 1974 corvette coup. 411 gears 1994 corvette 1995 miata-tricked out 1993 mercedes 300se (big "S" body) 1998 mercedes SLK 230 supercharged roadster
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST...The same wife through all this madness !!!!!
NOT LISTED are motorcycles, as I used to work with Harley, and am now a test rider and associate editor for RoadRUNNER magazine.

just my old '74 'vette, and i only list it 'cause the fiero is being considered "exotic" for this thread. so if the fiero is, i guess the old 'vette is too.
i guess i could have driven more. i have a shiester nephew who would take my brother's bmw and go to car dealers acting like the car was his and he was shopping for a new car. he'd brag about the cars he got to drive. i concidered it when i drove the 'vette and it looked nice, but i'm just not that devious.
I've driven my Fieros, a LS1 Corvette, my old LS1 Z28 Camaro, a few GTO's and Solstices, a mkI MR2, and that's about it. I also own and drive (quite often) my '91 MR2 Turbo. Its mid-engine RWD with a 300 hp turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, I'd say its exotic . Supposedly it gets about 4.5 seconds 0-60 and high 12's/low 13's in the 1/4 so its a pretty quick car.
I've also driven my friend's Alfa Romeo GTV6, Fiat 124 Spider, and Alfa Romeo Graduate. They're all good cars, handle well, but they're not crazy fast or anything.

M3 BMW German spec 270 kph 167mph smoked anything else over there except a porshe 959
I used to work at a Toyota dealer as a tech, You wouldn't believe some of the cars people trade for Toyota and Lexus.
SLR 2 Seater BMW M4 Every Cadillac currently made it seemed like, GTO Had a Avalanche that had a 8.1 in it once, The sticker was still in the glove box with no MPG ratings on it at all lol. Had a hybrid Honda that had to use 0w20 oil that was fun trying to find that oil in this area.

I have driven several Vettes but none were special editions. Since total Vette production is over a 1.5mil, I must say Fieros are the most exotic cars I've ever driven!
