I cant remember who it is on the forum that makes the black lexan trim pieces for our beloved cars, but only 3 of his 4 pieces will work in my car anyway due to my latest addition to the formula. I installed a turbo Sunbird gauge cluster into a fiero gauge pod and then wired it into my car. So to match the black plexi trim pieces i'm going to buy we had to make a 1 off gauge cluster face plate and here are the results!

The Sunbird gauge cluster in the Fiero Pod

The original Fiero faceplate

The modified Sunbird faceplate that was cut to fit into the Fiero Pod.. The problem is the lower section of the face plate doesn't match the contours of the Pod like the Fiero face plate does.

Datacop prototyped the new combination faceplate out of 1/4" plywood to get the forms proper.. this was the last wood prototype before we went to "production"

Plexiglass piece cut and freshly painted

Finally, the piece set over the Sunbird cluster in the Fiero Pod! keep in mind this is just loosely set in since the paint is not yet cured, and the flash does not due the finish justice!

It was a lot of fun to make that piece... The nice part about doing it on the CNC was that it enabled us to quickly adjust the program for "trial and error" once the basic pattern was down so that we could get a solid and true fit.

And if Fieroguy123 breaks it, we can always make another one

Of course! This is one of the projects I've wanted to do, but don't have the patience to make the bezel. I've asked a couple of people in threads where I've seen this cluster installed but no one seems to know how to get ahold of the original owner...-Jason

Here's the pic that interested me.

That would be Tom. He also is the one who makes the digital gauge kit for the Fiero:
