i have been reading PPF for about a year now and I finally got my first fiero yesterday at around 8 oclock!!! its a black 84 notchie se, 4 speed. im 18 and go to college in hays kansas. it was a 4 hour drive to kc to pick it up and a 4 hour drive back home. i was sooo excited to finaly get my own Fiero that i failed to look at all things that are falling apart haha. the engine runs great. handling is amazing.
BUT there is no radio
the driverside window is missing the seal.
the center conclole can lift straight up,
the shifting isnt very smooth
the head liner is falling down
and some one decied to rattlecan the entire car black. i mean come on dude a paint job isnt to ungodly expensive.... is it?

i wanted to see what the PFF comunity thinks
for 1,000 was it a good deal?

the repairs will start as soon as i can talk to guy in my home town who has a parts car.
pics coming soon

It depends. You want it done correctly? Yes. Half-hacked donkey job? No.

But yes, we do like pictures.

Lets start the "easy/fast Fix" list
BUT there is no radio- If I get the fiero that I'm looking at, I'll send you the stereo. Its a late model GM stereo with a cd player
the driverside window is missing the seal.- eh, thats a little tricky. Or so I've heard.
the center conclole can lift straight up,- Just needs a few screws
the shifting isnt very smooth- ask someone else
the head liner is falling down- $10 worth of fabric, $5 of spray-glue, and an hour will fix that right up
and some one decied to rattlecan the entire car black. i mean come on dude a paint job isnt to ungodly expensive.... is it?
and one last thing...

Glad to see a new fiero number wish you would have got ahold of one of us thats in kck or atleast started a thread one the drive up maybe you could have seen one of 2 of us over here. As for the car depends on what kinda con its in. If it is who i think i might of been from the guy who owned it had a longer go T??? Any who as for the door seal ask around and for the paint job its easy look up the $50 rustolem paint thread read that. As for shifting what the cables look like? To me $1,000 seems a little step with them probs. Good luck Though

Fieros are notorious for difficult shifting. Still, check what the others suggested. From there, Rodney Dickman has a shifter overhaul kit. If you do all of that, then either it's a bad trans, or you're just expecting too much of a Fiero.
I got my '84 2M4 3 years ago, with 42k miles and all paperwork, including service and maintenance records and receipts, for $1,200. I thought it was a good deal until I bought my black '86 2M4 for $200. the Isuzu trans is even less to my liking than the Muncie, despite the lower cruise rpm. I traded the '86 away.

I got into fieros about 3 years ago and i alread have 6 owned under my belt. I'm down to 3 of them but i love them. 84's i referr to as blonds because mine is so high matinence its not even funny. But its not that way with all 84's i just happen to come accross a very diffrent one. Good luck with it.

now some of small things that i need to fix.

this might be the reason the drivers side rearview mirror shakes and moves to the point i cant see anything out of it but the side of my car.

a good view of a bad paint job, and the lights dont go down.

the console is seperating in around the edges (look at the gap in the black material and the top of the console)

Thanks thats good to know

Update: my dad is going to paint the car for me. he used to run a body shop and did all of the painting he knows what he is doing.
the rpm gage is going all the way clock ways and hiting the voltage meter. it just started that today.

Thanks for the feedback and tips. If any knows of any solutions for any of the problems in the pictures that would be great.

thanks again and more coming soon
